Their TT bike is apparently less than 1kg heavier than a road bike, so it makes sense IF YOU GET INTO AERO POSITION. If you are just riding it like a normal bike, you are pushing extra weight for no good reason.
But is that a team issue or a Remco issue?
Roglic and Lipowitz seemed to be able to push the aero position, while Remco didn’t.

It looks like Remcos form is just too bad.

Not a good performance. Still third. But bleeding time last 2 days.
I've seen him resurrect himself before though. So long as he is mentally still in the game i would not count him out yet.
Mental part will matter.

If he is only a minute down on Lipo tomorrow, things can still turnaround in stage 18, 19.

He will need to not collapse tomorrow though.

Man he looks absolutely broken in the cool down :(
Think tomorrow will be brutal.
Turning out to be a terrible year for him, I guess only Worlds ITT and maybe road race left as realistic targets?

Which they would have known had he done a recon this morning.

It's one thing he doesn't have it, due to whatever circumstance, but the incessant stupidity is just too much.
I don’t quite understand what difference a recon would’ve done in this regard.

I think not being able to hold the aero position is a question about physical and mental strength. If he was on a good day, able to push the wanted watts and find a good rythm, he would’ve been in aero position. And its not like he would’ve done the recon in competition pace and therefore known that his form is *** and that he couldnt do it.

I think it’s a bit of a blind alley to blame this disaster performance on the bike choice, as Vinge, Roglic and Lipo all rode good on TT bike. His form is just not where it should be.

He needs to win UEC Road race this year. I want him to win that one more than any other non-GT victory.
I know it's not considered that big of a win. But it would make for one special palmares.

Yes of course he would have known he doesn't have the legs for that, and he should have gone for a lighter bike if you can't push your watts.
