after San Luis he'll ride the UAE tour , no Algarve, no Catalonie either it seems he'll ride some races in Flanders like Nokere Koerse
I know it's not official (yet), but if true, what would be the point of that? Strictly for commercial reasons?Lexman said:a change of his program

Reading or listening comprehension can be a pain in the ass, i know.Red Rick said:Really expecting to follow the big boys at 19 years old?
He doesn't necessarilly mean San Juan, neither did i say he did. He said once in the entire season would be a success. Doesn't matter if it's San Juan, or UAE, or whatever he's riding the rest of the year.roundabout said:How do you know that he means San Juan? From the context to me it seems more in reference to UAE.
WheelofGear said:Neither Nibali nor Valverde would be a real factor at the UAE race. Nibali wouldn't even top 10 it. It's Froome vs. Porte. Dumoulin is a joker, but I doubt he will be in real shape so early on with his double attempt.
BMC to pull off a bit better TTT than Sky. Froome and Porte to finish s/t on Jebel Hafeet with Froome outsprinting Porte and winning the stage. Froome to gain a bit of time on Hatta Dam, finishing 5th, with Porte way back in the explosive finale. Porte and Froome to finish 2nd and 3rd at Jebel Jais stage with a joker winning the stage. Froome to win by 10 seconds over Porte.

Why is that? Froome rarely is very good early in the season. Last time Valverde and Froome were in an early season race together was Catalonia 2017 where Valverde put on an master call in racing. Oh yeah a TTT in which Movistar was given a 1 minute penalty.
There is no BMC anymore and Porte is now at Trek. Froome won't be on the podium. He has 1 peak and that is for the Tour early in the season he's not as good as other top GC riders.

Not bad early season results when targetting one GT instead of two. This year he's targetting one GT
