I think Vingegaard is seated very low. Even at the lowest point of the pedal the knee is quite bent still.Meanwhile Vingegaard is using the superman position and it seems to be even more aero. Or maybe he's just brute forcing it.
What it "seems" like is not in the least bit important. What the windtunnel and the watts say, goes. Last year Evenepoel's setup was more upright than the years before, yet he demolished the opposition in Algarve and in the Vuelta with that setup, while it looked a lot less aero. It also allowed him to push more watts. He has never had a more aero position than during his junior years, but it also held him back because he wasn't able to output his power that way.Meanwhile Vingegaard is using the superman position and it seems to be even more aero. I have not heard of backpain issues so far, but i do know he had to start riding on a women's saddle because a normal saddle hurt too much. I don't know if that was only temporary or if that is still the case.Yeah, but also don‘t forget his Lombardia fall from the bridge, where he broke his back or pelvis.
This incident always makes me think, „How good would he be if that had not happened?“…
Since falling from the bridge, he probably frequently has back pain…

It's a fair question, I think he's been so good that few really think about that anymore. He's improved so much, I do wonder.Yeah, but also don‘t forget his Lombardia fall from the bridge, where he broke his back or pelvis.

Superb bike handling skills, primoz doesn't stand a chance in the descents
Against Merlier?Superb bike handling skills, primoz doesn't stand a chance in the descents
That's not Merlier, it's Evenepoel on his TT bike in his national champs TT jersey.Against Merlier?![]()
Ah, that makes more sense, thanks! That's not Merlier, it's Evenepoel on his TT bike in his national champs TT jersey.
Maybe Remco can show Primož a few football skills. And Primož can after take Remco ski jumping.
Wait. Rog used to be a ski jumper!?
Wait. Rog used to be a ski jumper!?
Yup. Don't google it. But trust me, It explains so much about his cycling career. (ie he crashes a lot)
Just hiding his performances I guess, VDP did the same when he was training in Spain. Even when he uploads his rides the watts and heart rate are always hidden sadly. He's gone dark on Strava, no more uploads of his rides in Tenerife the last few days. At least I hope he's gone dark on purpose and there isn't something preventing him from training.
I’d assume most teams have their own rules for how much data they can show, at least for certain riders. It’s nice we at least get it from some riders though.Just hiding his performances I guess, VDP did the same when he was training in Spain. It's a shame this data is hidden, there are some exceptions like De Lie (for now) but most pros choose to hide their watts and heart rate.
It's always interesting to see how fast these guys are and how easily they do it. You think you are in shape when you can go for rides at 30+ km/h average speed and then you see these guys are faster when doing recovery rides...
I don't think that's the calculus here. It's about what was promised to other riders (Jakobsen, Alaphillipe) about the Tour this year, and what was the "expected" pace of Remco's development. The latter I see more as an excuse to honor the former. Basically QS is OK holding him back a year (this was the original plan, etc.) to satisfy the other riders on the team. Other reason is they need a stronger team to support him at the Tour, and another year gives them some room to maneuver.![]()
I agree. The giro is a waste of time. He should start the TdF this year. It's much more important. It's an unfortunate decision to focus on the giro. I guess it is the sunk cost fallacy (the fact that he started it once and want to finish business) with the time trial kilometers as the reason used to rationalize the decision.
