Let's not pretend that it's a one team/rider thing...

This^^^ Its not like only one guy/team was doing it.

I did not pretend anything. But it was Ineos that started the wall of bikes on top as i recall. Other teams just followed suit. It is also the rider who has to fight the biggest aero disadvantage (the biggest rider that has to punch the biggest hole in the air) who will have the biggest gain by the aero push. So let's not pretend this has not benefitted Ganna the past few years.
Welcome back. Try to not disappear until the beginning of the Giro.

What happened anyway ? You are one of the main raisons why i started getting interested in this forum ( as a "basic" cycling fan ) . I searched the forum but couldnt find anything noteworthy . ..
I sent an e-mail to administration an hour into my last ban, to inquire about the motivation behind my ban, since i had no idea and could not find any deleted messages either. After a few days i got a reply, that they needed to look into what had happened. I have not heard anything since. So who knows.

Anyway, i figured it would have been posted by now, the Giro selection that will join Evenepoel does not include Masnada. A surprise because he has always been part of the group to join Evenepoel on altitude camps. Not a surprise based on the level he has been reaching.

Struggles with the unrealistic pressure a certain CN forum member puts on him.

Maybe , some "jokers" who pushed the report button one too many times with this as a result .
Cycling fans , at least on this forum , are starting to get more and more competitive ( hostile ? ) against one another with clear divisions in camps . It must also be that Remco brings out even more emotions in people , both positive and negative , than other cycling "monsters" such as Pogacar , Van De Poel , etc... I notice this a lot in Belgium as well and even after everything Remco has shown us at such a young age . I just do not get that . Anyway ...

Back in 2021 I remember that Fausto , alongside Almeida , was one of the top captains for Remco . In fact , many people even questioned if Remco should be picked above Fausto in the GC . We all know ofcourse what happened , and that is not relevant anymore now , but I remember the doubt in many people minds back then . It's funny how things have changed now .

It would still be up to an admin to take action, but i have noticed in the past they can feel pressured. But talking about it is also against the rules, so...

Fausto got mononucleosis early 2022. So it's difficult to really make any statements about his current level or whether he will ever get back to his former level

Cmon. That is harsh and unfair.

The poster has only been trying to lift up his favorite rider... and it surely has not been easy when others have constantly been trying to ridicule the poster for it. Now when the rider is underperforming, because of different factors, some people are pretty fast to act spiteful. That is not cool to act to either of the two.

Did they make small changes to his TT position during the winter? I’m wondering combined with his natural growth trajectory how much better we can expect him to be compared to his TT at the Vuelta
I have not heard/read anything about his TT position changing again, they made some major changes before last season. However, some of the rules concerning TT positions have changed for this year, so it is possible they needed to adjust some things. I did hear Van Wilder would be getting his custom aerobars for the Giro, so maybe they did take another trip to Specialized's win(d)tunnel with the team.

The problem is that the poster unnecessarily mentions Masnada in multiple threads and also ridicules riders with silly or offensive nicknames.

I have only seen the poster sticking up for Masnada, when others try to make fun of him.

The other stuff... not really here nor there, when it comes to the posters affection for his favorite rider. Two separate things.

There have always been some super-fans of individuals riders since I’ve followed this (forum) and as long as they are not constantly baiting fans of another rider, I think it adds to the fun. And if you don’t like it, what’s wrong with the ignore button?

As for “unnecessarily mentions,” everything we post on here is unnecessary! And 1 person always mentioning one rider does not derail threads the way some of the caustic banter between fans of more popular riders can sometimes get.

Remco evokes negative emotions because of his outspoken, confident winners mentality. It conflicts with many people's own self esteem, especially in Belgium where you are supposed to apologize if you do something better than someone else. As a result many want to see him fail ever since he turned pro and even more so after that WC in Belgium where many still believe that he failed to help WVA, who seems to evokes positive feelings due to his more down-to-earth mentality.

Frustration only grows with better results coming in. Twitter replies to anything about Remco confirm this. I expect it will stay this way. I do think it's more an issue of the casual supporter/fan than those who realy understand cycling and the efforts needed to succeed. For example, Strava is not at all a hostile towards Remco.

It's jealousy of those who cannot succeed toward the successful

One can just not react/respond and ignore it if the opinion doesn't matter or you find the discussion isn't going anywhere.

I'm not a big fan of the ignore button since it deprives yourself out of meaningful reactions just because you didn't like an opinion of that person. It is a sign of weakness to make your own echo chamber/safe space. If you can't handle others opinions on subjects, one shouldn't be on the internet :). (real life should also be a *** in that case). Of course harassing or singling out people to call names etc are a whole other thing and that is up to the higher levels ;D. (Giving riders a nickname isn't a problem I assume. Not everyone can share the same vision or sees things through the same lens as others. I guess as long as people aren't name calling each other...)

That said asside:

Pitty Masnada isn't going well. It read he was a bit sick (again) during Romandia. Apperently he told the team he shouldn't be in the 1st pick based on how he was feeling. (he is still reserve for the Giro).
I hope he gets to his old level later this year, or at least shows sign he can get back to his old level.
And our Masnada fans should keep cheering/believing in him! If he can get to the tour team he might be free to do what he wants. (since i don't think they have anyone for the GC;just stage races).

That must be a case of selective memory. You can't sit here with a straight face and act surprised that people will take this opportunity to act the way they do based on what the guy is writing day in day out about Masnada. Truly ridicolous stuf.

Sure, jealousy plays a role but it‘s also apparent arrogance by people who feel like they possess the ultimate truth because they believed in Evenepoel in situations where many doubted him and are now not able to see why some may not like him and thus attribute the negativity to personal failure of those „haters“.

Well, in that case you are not any better than the person you are now trying to seek some sort of revenge against. Over what? Some posts on a forum? It is your turn now? Truly ridiculous stuff, indeed.

He is just a fan and if his fandom or opinions rile you up, just ignore.
