If the intention is to use the Dauphine as a training block, how can we conclude anything from his GC result? How can we actually compare his results with the others? We can only do so if all of them go all in for the victory.

Those that go all in for victory know they can do so with still a margin of improvement or else are not thinking about the Tour. So Remco needs to be in near top shape now, if he thinks of Tour GC.

Bora's only hope for the Tour is Roglic. They have no other viable alternative.

I was talking about Dauphine strategy but wasn't super clear. IMO the Dauphine is their serious Tour rehearsal even if they front two guys just for that race. As long as Primoz gets his form confirming rides in place he doesn't need to be the rider that wins it. Just a wild card theory.

IMHO Remco needs to show SOMETHING in the Dauphine; it's not realistic to use the race simply for training and expect to be at his sharpest for the Tour. Preferably try to crush the TT, along with seeing how well he's able to follow in the mountains without going super deep. He obviously doesn't want to be at his tippy-top right now the but the Tour is 4 weeks away, not 4 months. If he gets into significant trouble in any one of these stages as far as I'm concerned he will have no chance of competing seriously for GC in July. Just my .02 of course.

I don't get why y'all get so "upset" about all this. It's not difficult to understand though. He didn't have good legs during the altitude stage. So it's difficult to for him to say that he has big goals during this Dauphiné. It's just a prep race anyway. Maybe with the effect of altitude and the week of relative rest he had after the stage, his level will improve and he'll be able to get some good results. But he doesn't know and he only cares about improving his shape.
The Tour is 3 weeks after the last stage of Dauphiné, so he still has time to get much better.

Can you wheelsuck by a mile, though? Almeida? And i assume wheelsucking a sandbagger is still acceptable? Wheelsucking Pogi or Jonas could be considered funny too?
