Alaphilippe was at the front the moment Roglic moved up. Remco wasn't.Alaphilippe was going backwards pretty early up the climb so that wouldn't have worked.

Remco should just have followed Alaphilippe and Van Wilder.

Regardless, both IVW and JA were at the front at one point, Remco never was.Ah I must have been thinking about further up when Van Wilder came to the front and looked behind to see no team mates.
Remco did his work. Now it is upto his team to protect him. That should mean JA completely at his service.
i have said it before...
remco reminds me most of hinault.
diesel climber, not paying attention that riders are on his wheel, just dropping them at pace, super TTer.
He seems much friendlier than hinault though, i can't see remco punching a farmer or pushing someone off the stage.![]()
Hopefully he does have a bad day otherwise this isn't going to be the most exciting Vuelta.Impressive, really didn't see that coming today. He simply rode tempo and dropped all the other favorites bar Mas, who could only follow. Smart not accellerating wildly, which means he is thinking long game. Hopefully he doesn't have a bad day, but if he continues like this through the TT it looks great.

Must be the first time I got called a hater in this threadbecause it was bound to be thrilling if there was no challenge to rog.
seriously, you haters gotta get a grip.

Lucky Remco, the others didn’t bother today.
They tried but they were either carrying injuries, were undertrained, were not yet at their peak, had no team support blah blah blah
Give the kid a break! He's been under the spotlight for unfulfilled expectations and had a good day. It's not over but he showed discipline and finished it off.Hopefully he does have a bad day otherwise this isn't going to be the most exciting Vuelta.
and this is just a training race for their future goals.
forgot that one. ;-)
