12,600 come from the same 20 Belgians, though. I think I may be a rare American fan-light. I don't consider myself a totally dedicated fan to any rider until they're retired and everyone acknowledges they raced clean.
Half the posts are by haters who say he's overrated and complain that his thread has too many posts.

Same with the Contador thread.

Don't think a Contador would have taken off until at least 2007 and probably 2009 Tour
I’m sure he would have 5-10 before 2007 because of the hype and medical concerns. After 2007, it’d just keep growing and growing.

...imagine how many pages the real Eddy Merckx would have, had social media been around in those days.
He’d need the coverage of today as well. Though he and Lance are the only ones that I think could hit ten thousand pages or more from start of their career to present. Maybe Coppi and Bartali combined could teach that with the rivalry.

Saying some crap like that(yeah, you say a lot of crap in this forum) doesn't make you better than jihad tuga. You are just like them.
I had the same reaction when I read Almeida was going to the Giro. Normal font size seems enough. But yeah, he’s not going to be much of a factor assuming everyone’s healthy and fit.

Then after 2010, it all logically needed to move to the clinic, where - yes - it just kept "growing and growing".

If he's in decent shape I would expect he finished top 5. Sure he won't be able to match the performance of Evenepoel and Vingegaard, but I wouldn't say that top 5 isn't being much of a factor.

Most contentious posts would be the 7 or 9 question for Contador whereas for Remco it is the "yes he can climb" vs the "no he cant climb"

Yes, I think 5th is about where I’d put him. Not a factor for the win might be a better way of putting it.

He should not go to the giro. He should go to the tour help pogacar, because he doesn't have the strenght to win a grand tour and beat remco. But, i don't like when someone demean a rider.

Topic starter isn't Belgian. Red Flanders isn't Belgian. Big Doopie isn't Belgian. Shadow isn't Belgian... i think you'd be surprised by the amount of big posters in this thread, who aren't Belgian.
Most of the hate brigade isn't Belgian, and i'd wager they take up 33% of posts in the thread as well. Maybe now that he has proven he might someday win a big race against good competition, some of the endless debate will fade away. However, obviously we still don't know if he can climb.

One of the journalists for CN thinks the TTT in France will entice Remco ...I don't think so. It's Il Giro all the way.

yup. TTT would not favor Remco. Certainly against Jumbo. And potentially not against UAE or Ineos.

going to the giro will allow QS to have another year to build a GT team around Remco, while providing him with enough tests on the one thing he has not yet done: multiple HC mountain stages.
