Is he wrong? Just sounds to me like some very common Belgian matter-of-fact talk.Remco is so funny , he's great for the sport
Was also talking with Pedersen at the back of the peloton. And the short interview after the stage he was also smiling, so I think he's okay. Less pain than in the Vuelta he said. The fact that he was already joking this morning (limping in the riders' village) makes me think that his injuries may not be too bad in the end.
We will know more tomorrow.
Glad he apologized at the Trek bus. He surely has good intentions, but is often misunderstood (sometimes justified).
Oh yeah, when I was his age...
Why am I not surprised? That's cycling media for you. Directly asking him about something and then it's pulled out of context a big clickbait headline about the rider making a certain statement about another rider.I'd like to see the source of that as well. Seems like something pulled out of context.
Watching it now... great plan to have an interview over skype riding through a tunnel.
EDIT: yeah, as i thought, pulled out of context and poorly transcribed/translated. He is asked directly (by Phil Gil) which impression Roglic gives him. He then says "he gives me the impression of being a bit nervous" based on how Roglic moves through the peloton etc. Which is something different to stating "Roglic is nervous" (which could be interpreted as him being scared/insecure). Half of the interview is cut off by lousy transmission/connection.

Wouldn’t it be great if people at forums behave like that? 😂This, things just happen in the heat of the moment. As long as you solve things afterwards and don't keep your initial stance after seeing that you also made a mistake it's really not a big deal.
If we make mistakes in the heat of the moment we get banned. That's why we behave like adults at all time.Wouldn’t it be great if people at forums behave like that? 😂
Yeah, and even with it being spotlighted and magnified, it’s nothing outrageous. It’s not like he said of his opponents: “If I were them I’d be sh*ting their pants” like someone else we know. Why am I not surprised? That's cycling media for you. That's difficult to say as a spectator. Evenepoel has always been quite "alpha" or "football" in his reactions, i don't think it has to mean he is nervous, it's just the way he is. After calming down he usually realises if he is wrong and isn't too ashamed/petty to admit it if he is. On the other hand, same could be said of Roglic, who always seems calm but on the other hand has been said by multiple riders to behave erratically in the peloton. So does it tell us anything? I don't know. Evenepoel looks confident, but that doesn't mean Roglic isn't.Evenepoel surely has a better insight than any of us about what Roglig may be showing in the peloton but from the outside and only as a fan and a viewer my perception tells me that Roglig appears to be more relaxed than Evenepoel. Evenepoel imo appears to be a little bit edgy and Roglic appears to be as always, calm!
As i said, without any knowledge whatever to show that this is in fact the case, just my percepetion from their behaviour since stage 1!That's difficult to say as a spectator. Time for Primoz to invite Remco to going ski flying in Planica. Sitting up there, Primoz suddenly calmly asks Remco, „You look a little bit nervous, don‘t you?“…
No he doesn't.
It's mind games. If someone had asked Evenepoel what he thought of Hugh Carthy, he probably would have answered... "he's tall".
And there's a good reason why riders don't usually come out with stuff like "my rival is nervous etc." i.e. because there's a huge element of lady luck in pro cycling whereby anyone in the peloton can go down at any moment in any stage.
So if Rog hits the deck, the ensuing discourse will get nasty real fast with comments like "haha Remco was right!" whilst if Evenepoel hits the deck you'll get comments like "speak for yourself, Remco!" & he'll look like a bit of a d*ck.
It's a lose-lose proposition to say your rival is 'nervous'.
Problem is he doesn't say 'he IS nervous', he said 'he SEEMS nervous'. which by al intend and purposes has a completely different meaning. Roglic can appear nervous because the way he rides around in the peleton because he wants to avoid crashes or because he seems to go in the front at intermediates to see if he can get time of guarded, or or or it is just a wrong read that Remco has on Roglic's behaviour. No he doesn't.
