I'm deducting a bit extra because of losing the rhythm and because I don't know for sure how much time passed between the puncture and the bike change, but yeah, 2nd was the most likely outcome.Tarling lost silver, not gold. That bikechange (not a crash) was not 28s.
Maybe it's just me but I don't count TT as big wins.1x Vuelta
2x Liege
2x San Sebastian
1x Olympic ITT
1x WC ITT
1x WC RR
5x stages Vuelta
Just off the top of my head at 24. Thats like 6 huge wins already.
Well, I agree. Lets call it 5 then, 0,5 of each ITT.Maybe it's just me but I don't count TT as big wins.

Olympic gold is a big win.Maybe it's just me but I don't count TT as big wins.
Only Hour record is missing.I might be wrong but I think this win makes Remco the first rider to win all of the following:
-WCTT
-Olympic TT
-Continental TT championship
-a Giro TT
-a Tour TT
-a Vuelta TT
Impressively this is still true even if we exclude the european championship which is a relatively new race of questionable importance. And all that at just 24 years of age. He really looks like the definitive TT rider of his generation.
Edit: dammit I was beaten
Yes.... good predictionNo chance to win today
Cornering is going to be far too important with the rains

Might need the aid of teenage girls again.Basically all the cards that were going to determine the winner were stacked against him, yet he did. I truly believe an impeccable double gold is in the works.
