Yeah, I'm wondering if it's still the plan to go to Spain the coming days/weeks or if he's just going to stay in Belgium now until he joins the Giro team at their altitude camp on Sierra Nevada.

No clue. There are so many variables to take into account, of which we don't really have any idea what the situation is. Personal life, type of bike trainings he's doing, physio training, mental aspects, etc.
If he's able to train properly here, and do his work as intended, there's no reason to go to Calpe as long as the weather is decent here. I think the biggest reason while he's still in Belgium is because he probably still does physio training for his shoulder at least once a week.

Why do you think that? Because Merlier the best sprinter in the world is also going to the TDF? Merlier is getting Van Lerberghe, and all other riders are there for Evenepoel. Sure some of them like Lampaert can also do the work for Merlier, but they aren't there for him. If both of them would crash, Evenepoel is the one they focus on to get back.
The team definitely think he can compete in the TDF. They have never given any indication that they don't.
Even merlier has been told he can sprint, otherwise its donkey duty

I guess it depends on what one means by "compete". Sure, he can compete for the win. Does anyone, even his team, think he's going to actually win? Kinda doubt it. But I also haven't seen anything from the team indicating what they think, why would they?

I don't think there's anyone that thinks he would win. Evenepoel himself doesn't even think that. He wants to reduce the gap to them, and the team is completely supportive of that goal. This narrative being pushed by Peyrote that his team doesn't believe in him is ridiculous. Evenepoel and the team have the same goal, and are very aware of what that is.

OK. I don't follow things closely enough to know narratives, except for the most comical examples, like those who root for Masnada or Froome.

When did he go on altitude camp after his injury last year? Romandie can likely fit in with Dauphiné too, and it should work just fine to start Dauphiné undercooked.

I looked it up, he started his altitude camp on the 6th of May in Sierra Nevada last year. Important moments for his pre-TDF schedule are:
Tour de Romandie finishes 4th of May
Dauphine starts 8th of June
NC Belgium are 27th (ITT) and 29th of June (RR)
Tour de France starts 5th of July
Between Romandie and Dauphine there are 4.5 weeks. So he could even decompress after Romandie for a week and then go back to altitude. And do another short session between Dauphine and NC Belgium if he really wants to attend.

Will Roglic ride it? Besides him the 3 podium contenders will indeed be there. Normally Evenepoel should have the yellow jersey after stage 4, and then receive a wake up call during stage 6-8.

Can we have a surprise start in Sanremo with Magnier out? Unlikely but why not? They always say it’s an easy race untill the finale. He’s done hard 200km+ training days already. I guess he could. But better not rush him.
