So basically the weight he had at the TDF '24. Wonder if they plan to lose some more weight, or keep it at this level. Because after the TDF last year Evenepoel said he might be able to lose another kilo, but in this interview his performance trainer said:

He seems in much better shape. Makes sense as he's not coming off a major injury in April this year.

Also, means he wasn't close to his best last year in the TDF

Apparently, nobody was "close to their best" at last year's TdF, which is why Pogacar won. That seems to be a common take on this forum. Of course, all three podium finishers beat Pantani's record on PdB, so I can only assume that had Vingo and Remco been in top shape, they could have reached escape velocity at some point on that climb.

are you actually suggesting that one is at their best after coming off a massive injury?

The man who soundly defeated Pog twice in a row was at his best after having a collapsed lung?

I do think belgians need to appreciate their current champions more.

As for Remco, they way i read it, he is currently 1,5 kg lighter than he was at the same time last year ahead of the dauphine. Already close to what will be his TdF weight. I don't think we should expect Remco to be lighter than last year. I think the main difference is that last year they needed to rush him into what they consider his TdF weight whilst juggling training/condition/... . This year they could ease him into his TdF weight. Allowing for a better training prep. Not having to worry about the weight factor.
