I wonder who decides what is his ideal Tour weight in this context. The guy from HLN, Pelgrim, Evenepoel, Van Mol, or Paret-Paintre.in HLN "Daarmee zit hij al dicht bij zijn ideale Tourgewicht" 'close to' doesn't mean 'equal to' i guess

You, of course.I wonder who decides what is his ideal Tour weight in this context. The guy from HLN, Pelgrim, Evenepoel, Van Mol, or Paret-Paintre.
I do the same: I also wear a black shirt while cycling, most of the time.

Out of respect for Tadej and Remco.
Well i would hope so, but i never said anything to this guy from HLN.You, of course.

It’s a shame we can’t put a poll in a single postWe should have a poll on what Remco's weight should be at the start of stage one of TDF. I'm serious this time.
can we put a poll on this thread? It’s a shame we can’t put a poll in a single post
I think a moderator could do itcan we put a poll on this thread?
Apparently, nobody was "close to their best" at last year's TdF, which is why Pogacar won. That seems to be a common take on this forum. Of course, all three podium finishers beat Pantani's record on PdB, so I can only assume that had Vingo and Remco been in top shape, they could have reached escape velocity at some point on that climb. He seems in much better shape. Makes sense as he's not coming off a major injury in April this year.
Also, means he wasn't close to his best last year in the TDF

they have fans?LOL, I genuinely think Vingo and Pog would have even more fans if some of their current rabid supporters would chill tf out.
I refuse to be complicit in furthering such a discussion.I think a moderator could do it
Certainly and it will be the end of cycling as we know it. The whole culture will change in 30 years.are you talking about E-bikes?
Next UCI president right here people. If only the races could be adjusted on the calendar around whatever Remco's weight is at the time, and not Remco having to adjust his weight to when the races are.
Despite that rushed preparation the 2024 Tour was still the best we have ever seen Remco climb IMO. For example, on PdB, Remco also broke Pantani's record. With his better prep this year Remco is the 3rd leg to what is shaping up to be a titanic battle in July.I think the main difference is that last year they needed to rush him into what they consider his TdF weight whilst juggling training/condition/... . This year they could ease him into his TdF weight. Allowing for a better training prep. Not having to worry about the weight factor.
The biggest thing, I think, now, when it's crunch time, is..."Show me the goods!" no wailing about. And the rest is history.Despite that rushed preparation the 2024 Tour was still the best we have ever seen Remco climb IMO. For example, on PdB, Remco also broke Pantani's record. You are overrating what he can do. Bernal won the Tour after braking his collarbone. He had 12 weeks to recover, not 9 like Pogacar (a "simple" injury just like Remco). And I'm pretty sure the gap for Vingegaard and Pogacar will be bigger than ever even if the actual gap (in time) is smaller due to Pogi and Vingo battle (looking to each other like Contador and Schleck in Tourmalet).Despite that rushed preparation the 2024 Tour was still the best we have ever seen Remco climb IMO.
