Alright, yeah I can see him definitely go to Bora if Vanthourenhout goes there. And I wouldn't be surprised if Evenepoel specifically asked for that. Wonder if Lodewyck stays at SOQ then.

Alaphilippe's rather erratic steering is likely the reason why he might not be regarded as the best teacher in that regard. Though he was a much better descender.

Tough day on the road. But all in all not much happened GC wise.
Skjelmose lost some time due to crash. Remco more fresh at the finish in comparison to a couple of days ago when he had to accelerate out of all those turns. Resulting in him being able to hold the wheel at the finish. Meanwhile Almeida lost some time. Don't mean much. But it's something nice for Remco to take with him for what's comes next in this tour.

Roglic consistently losing time on these finishes does mean something imho. We didn't see a lot of the peloton in the final, so i have no idea whether Almeida had been working or not.

How do we know they've not been trying to work with him on bike handling? And that he's just a guy who started riding a bike at 17 and just kind of sucks at it?
I know a lot of guys who I've tried to teach descending who just don't have the ability to shut off the nerves and not think about crashing. They never progress. He might just be one of those guys.

Everything I hear is that he's already gone. This sounds like press fodder and face-saving. Indeed, it's hard to believe that they never tried to improve his bike handling. At some point you have to accept that you missed the most crucial learning years, which is during childhood and early adolescency, and you can't make up for it anymore.
Besides starting late, he spent 2 years in junior category riding 95% of the time in front of the peloton, so he learned absolutely nothing there either. Then turned pro, and which pro road racer actually spends (wastes) time on specific technique training? Let alone one who has been commonly injured and lost many precious training hours already.

Whatever the truth is, there's nothing else he can say at this moment though.
I was inclined to believe that Remco would stay, but with Vanthourenhout joining Red Bull, I don't think he will.

It is not strange to see some riders become "worse" or more careful, if you will. Because they suffer bad crashes... or they just suffer crashes, because they are not among the best bike handlers in the peloton.
Also, good point in Pogacar improving. He has done so in many ways, probably why he is so successful
And they still do? Or do you reckon SOQ already made a deal behind the scenes and is feeding BS to media?
