Wow, Remco was racing against the locals. I wouldn't be surprised if the first guy was faster than our hero. He looks very fit and has pro shoes. A lot of uncovered cycling talents in Africa (just look at distance running).

Clearly those altitude natives are more gifted natural climbers!

He elaborated a bit on his form when asked by Belgian media.

I don't want to shout it from the rooftops, but I don't think I've reached the form I'm in now this year. That's understandable: I've had a decent preparation, a long month of training camp, and I now have five months of competition under my belt, just like everyone else before the Tour.

So it's not surprising that I'm feeling the best I've done all season now. That's also what we expected after the winter. It's the first time I've been able to do everything really well in training.

In both 2022 and 2024, he had a slower build up. This year he got thin and sharp before he had laid the foundation.

Because he and his staff are idiots. That’s been discussed lengthily in this topic before. No one understand why they rushed him towards Ardennes classics. He is impatient and wants to perform there, but staff should’ve protected him from it.

Hopefully now we get to see him in amazing shape for a couple of weeks so that the race is more entertaining instead of a Pogi show

It's way more difficult than AGR plus Pog was straight after Flandres-Roubaix double then. No comparison at all.
