Wow, Remco was racing against the locals. I wouldn't be surprised if the first guy was faster than our hero.
That is hard to tell from a still photo.

No, you can clearly see that he is ahead of RemcoThat is hard to tell from a still photo.

Clearly those altitude natives are more gifted natural climbers!Wow, Remco was racing against the locals. I wouldn't be surprised if the first guy was faster than our hero. He looks very fit and has pro shoes. A lot of uncovered cycling talents in Africa (just look at distance running).
Remco, I love you, but the goatee and shaved head combo is really not the look.Yes. When you see him in outfit, he's clearly in Ardennes shape

I hope he shaves it for the ITT, and this is just casual Remco that's too lazy to shave because there are more important thingsRemco, I love you, but the goatee and shaved head combo is really not the look.
Like shaving all the rest?I hope he shaves it for the ITT, and this is just casual Remco that's too lazy to shave because there are more important things
Remco in those photos doesn‘t look fat but he looks like a bodybuilder.
I don't want to shout it from the rooftops, but I don't think I've reached the form I'm in now this year. That's understandable: I've had a decent preparation, a long month of training camp, and I now have five months of competition under my belt, just like everyone else before the Tour.
So it's not surprising that I'm feeling the best I've done all season now. That's also what we expected after the winter. It's the first time I've been able to do everything really well in training.
What do you mean? Why wasn't his plan for this year then to race the Vuelta?
He doesn't think he had enough time to prepare for the Tour, right? Why not aim for the Vuelta then? What do you mean?
That’s his analysis after the TDF. Before the TDF they didn’t know he wasn’t going to be able to get readyHe doesn't think he had enough time to prepare for the Tour, right? Why not aim for the Vuelta then?
Because he and his staff are idiots. That’s been discussed lengthily in this topic before. No one understand why they rushed him towards Ardennes classics. He is impatient and wants to perform there, but staff should’ve protected him from it.And if he lacks race rhythm, why only start his season with the Ardennes after an altitude camp and not ease into racing with a stage race before that? Four years ago it was the same with no racing before his first target where he had to perform.
In both 2022 and 2024, he had a slower build up. This year he got thin and sharp before he had laid the foundation.
Edit: I suspect that he is as impatient off the bike as on it, and apparently he gets/takes/follows no advice to the contrary.
Pogi show is always entertainingBecause he and his staff are idiots. That’s been discussed lengthily in this topic before. No one understand why they rushed him towards Ardennes classics. He is impatient and wants to perform there, but staff should’ve protected him from it.
Hopefully now we get to see him in amazing shape for a couple of weeks so that the race is more entertaining instead of a Pogi show
The direct quote I think is this is the best he's been this year.Remco says he's never been in this high condition before the WCITT, at least that's what some Italian commentators said he said at the Tour of Luxembourg. Belgian (Belgium if you are Chris Horner) friends, can you verify?
Hopefully now we get to see him in amazing shape for a couple of weeks so that the race is more entertaining instead of a Pogi show
We’ll see. He was the same weight at AGR, it depends on how hard the race isHe will likely excel in the TT but too many kilos could cost him in the RR vs Pog.

Indeed. The direct quote I think is this is the best he's been this year.
But then again I don't scour every interview.
