He's done it once, so I don't know how much I'd extrapolate from that. My possible concern with Remco for the road race is whether his incredible TT shape will translate over to being super strong in the RR. Obviously it might do, it's just a bit hard to judge at the moment. I know on the BBC coverage yesterday Alex Dowsett said he thought that Remco would win the RR because he thinks that Remco will essentially take a flyer and then TT to the finish. I'm not sure that the constant ups and downs of the circuit will lend themselves to that though. There doesn't seem to be a lot of flat on the course (based on the parcours) and the descents seem to incorporate lots of short climbs. It might be the sort of course that really tires Remco out if he's primarily focused on his TT shape rather than his endurance.
At least twice? In first week of Tdf 2024 and AGR25. My point is also that Belgium have a really good team for this course and if they all commit Pogacar will have a hard time getting away, it will not bee like Flanders where UAE crushed almost everyone before Pogi launch. The ITT was also undulating Remco should be prepeared.

Also the last week of TDF 2024. Pog attacked, Remco bridged with Vingegaard dangling at the back i think.

Yes of course you're right, I was thinking only of one days.

Reactions: Low is rhe new high
It feels like it will be really chaotic. There are quite a few guys who could be dangerous and might want to go along to catch out Pogacar/ Remco. Ayuso and del Toro could both be hard to bring back.
I think Pogacar, and thus likely Remco as well, would follow if either of those guys decided to go early. I don't offhand remember how (if) del Toro has performed in monument-length races before, but his form is excellent right now.

Interview with Koen Pelgrim, performance coach of Evenepoel and SOQ. Nothing new was really said besides that at the bottom of the first climb Evenepoel had a lead of 15s, and at the top 45s. He seems to hope that the combination of Remco having done altitude training, and Pogacar not will be enough for an exciting race.

Strava says 19 seconds, not 30, and 31s on the section before the climb. But I think it ifts if they mean an earlier point which isn't the start of the real climb but the lowest point before the climb.

Absurd position. Will go down as the greatest time trialist when hes done.

Martin won WCC ITT 4 times but did not win the Olympics.
Cancellara also won WCC ITT 4 times and won the Olympics once twice.
Wiggins won WCC and Olympics ITT once each.
Rogers won WCC 3 times but no Olympics.

So he only needs one more to match Cancellara (edit: and another Olympic title). Some people will keep insisting Indurain or Anquetil are still better regardless of course, since they could never become WCC ITT champs etc.

I wonder how PCS created their ranking for this.

yup. super weird.

why is armstrong even on there for starters?

and Maertens should be much higher, even though he only had 2-3 good years.
