Great race. He fought like a champion and never gave up.

This is what he needs to do every time something does not go quite right

I dont think these mechanicals would made a difference in the end as if he didn't have them, Pog likely drops him on the second to last cobbled climb anyways. I would have liked to see Pog win it by dropping Remco, however, vs the mechanicals

Clearly Remco doesn't have the necessary climbing legs. If he wants to compete with Jonas and Tadej in stage races next year he needs to rebuild his physique and remove the buff.
But if he wants to keep winning TTs and get destroyed in the mountains he can continue being a sexy bodybuilder for Oumi.

Honestly, I don't know. He was definitively strong, but he is too fragile mentally. He panicked after getting dropped and stopped twice for problems that I can't say if they were real or not. Could he ave won without that?
Probably not, but he would have kept Pogacar busier in the last 2 laps

he got dropped because he had a mechanical

no way did he blow. He wouldn't have been able to ride like he did had he blown

He climbed very well today. He couldn't have finished solo second if he couldn't climb

Besides, happy wife, happy life

Actually he followed the same trajectory in many races in the past. Suffering on eraly efforts and then coming back thanks to his endurance. He should just accept that this happens when he does not do specific climb preparation and race accordingly, independently of the genuinity of his mechanicals

Initially, I thought, here we go again just like we've seen all year. But Remco was really good, hats off to him. Pogacar is just many leagues above everyone: theres nothing anyone can do. But Remco was, beyond any doubt, by far the second-best rider today, zero doubt about it. Well done, if you ask me good and promising performance.

Someone quoted Hermans saying that Remcos saddle went out of position (fell down a bit?) on Mount Kigali. So to me it seems pretty clear that he got dropped because of the mechanical (he was looking very comfortable just 10-15s before he suddenly went right out of Pogacars wheel and dropped like a stone. So the getting dropped and first bike change definitively looked like a real problem.

The second one is much more questionable. Apparently Hermans said Remco felt uncomfortable with the saddle position on the spare bike and therefore wanted to change once more. That one could definitiviely only be mental.
