I just noticed at PCS that Dennis has never (!) ridden any monument.
That is strange. As a two times ITT WC, I would have expected he‘d do greatly in the flatter one day races…

It's to do with endurance - In saying that, I'd love to have Dennis pacing me into climbs if I am a GC rider - He provides silver service.
Not sure he has the temperament for coaching but his knowledge re track pursuiting and TTs is obviously high level. Not all retired riders want to stay within the sport when they finish up. He's had a long career and had a lot of early success on the track.
Have you actually looked at his career race days? He very rarely raced any 1 day races so it shouldn’t be a surprise that he never rode a monument.
He will retire with a couple of ITT world titles, a stage at all 3 GT’s and a Olympic silver medal. It seems like he got it together pretty well.

Harsch! (In this clip Dennis reminds me of my friend whose jokes always goes too far and can't shut up for a second. And has zero clues about any social rules. So wherever he goes he tires people out with his want for constant attention.)Dennis was always there at the end, finishing just before Kuss and Roglič. Brought a lot of stability and experience to the team. And at one stage i remember Healy being all over the peloton with attacks. Ineos trying to talk him out of it. Then Dennis had a short chat with Healy. The next thing that happened is Healy was seen at the back of the peloton.

You never know the true characterof someone through social media etc.
That being said this is deeply deeply disturbing. Makes me sick to my stomach. Can't even wrap my head around it all.
No reason to jump to any conclusions. The charge doesn't say anything about intention. It can be purely accidental.
Very tragic situation regardless.
I need to step away from some of the comments online as well. There's way too much "oh this is so sad, RIP, my thoughts are with the family etc.".
It's not "sad", it's horrific. A nightmare. It's sick. I mean what a sh*t end of the year for pro cycling.
