So Di Luca isn't the former GT winner about to get opped by BP, that has yet to be released. He discusses the tension between Wiggins and Froome yet zero innuendo of anything nefarious at Sky, no doubt to the chagrin of many here. Says Vini-Fantini were effing stupid to sign both Santa Di Luca, but then tell us something we don't know, and implies that BMC off-loaded Santa because they knew what he was up to, although I did read Freibe saying Scinto sought assurances, and got them, from Max Sciandri

Yeah, it's not really fair. Is there even any American equivalent to Di Luca? A convicted doper cyclist who made it back to the top of the European peloton after the ban?

Landis and Hamilotn were never really that popular, or were they? And they were kind of **** after their first bans anyway.

If it indeed is KdK then he should be unpopular on his own team with statements about all sprinters racing for 2nd and 3rd after Cav if he is on the team of Kittel and Jonny D

Landis and Hamilton also got slammed by the Armstrong PR machine - they were major liability territory for a long while.


You know, I really don't like the whole "figure out who the secret racer is and out him" game, at all. If he wanted to be known, he wouldn't be secret. Imo, this is disrespectful of the rider, whomever he is.

I just popped in for some forgotten reason, and read a few of the posts. I know y'all think it is fun and games - but it seems callous to me. Human foibles, but callous. Speaking for myself, I wish you'd let that game die, and let the secret pro keep his secrets.

You would think so. On the other hand he knew exactly what JD gave his teammates after the '12 Vuelta as a thank-you. Apart from the other ways he fits.

May 2013 - Secret Pro post

Chaps,

you may remember this post from the Secret Pro in May:

While I’m on the topic of Grand Tours, there’s talk going around the peloton that a former Grand Tour winner who’s about to be taken down for a biological passport irregularity. I can’t say who it is but when the news breaks you’ll know who I’m talking about. If it’s true, it’s a good thing that he’s been found out; it shows that the biological passport is doing its job.

Thought nothing of it as nothing appeared to come of it, but today was with some of the guys i work with in the US and we were talking about the Tdf, Froome, Sky, Valv etc... and one of them bought up the Wiggo v Froome issue from last year... comments were passed on Wiggo not being around this year, and we talked / laughed about the Giro - and then one of the guys insinuated that there's more than meets the eye about why Wiggo dropped out of the Giro, and has not been since... not even snapped training, or anything. Alost as if he has waked away from the limelight for a period of time.

Anyone know anything about what he's doing at present, and is it true his return will be at the Tour of Britain in Sept?

How long would you get for a BP irregularity?
