sorry, and thx for moving.

sure - the speculation was that it was Menchov, but what if it was someone else?

How long would you get pulled up for a problem with your BP?

A Biopassport sanction is the same as a positive drug screen.

2 years is the norm for a first offense.

Or they just keep pushing you and pushing you until you feel you can't go on.

not a bad one, not a particularly insightful one either. but does mention that mcquaid has come under some unfair criticism.

Pretty up to date too with the Nibali wasp/cortisone issue. You really get the feeling this is ghost written by a journo based on some rider(s) feedback...

So, not Koen de Kort then. The writer states he's still in talks with his national fed on a possible worlds selection. The Dutch selection is final and KdK is not in.

First part could've been easily written by Contador himself ;)

This.

We are talking about a guy who stated that its ok for Australian riders to dope but not European ones. The only things that should go in this thread are more quotes that make him look like an idiot, and info that could help out him.

Few riders, even secret ones, will publicly criticize McQuaid. He has made it very clear he is vindictive and will target critics. He also has sons and brothers who work in the sport as Agents, race organizers etc.

I'm guessing because he was very forgiving of O'Grady, along the lines of 'it was the Euros that made him do it'

He wrote that it was OK for O'Grady, or other Australians, to dope but not Euros? Was this the secret Pro or the owner of Cyclingtips?

Seems a bit far fetched

Hitch was presenting a bit of a strawman. He compared O'Grady to Santa, and basically said O'Grady was ok but Santa's wasn't, because of the different eras:

For you Australians, I see that Stuart O’Grady’s results from the 1998 Tour were labelled as suspicious and he promptly retired a year ahead of schedule. And now he’s admitted that he doped before that Tour. I don’t defend dopers, but I think you need to think about the times these guys were riding in before passing judgement. Is there any difference between him and Santambrogio? In a word, yes. Doing stuff like that nowadays is just not acceptable.

Ahh, got it. It was not Euros/Aussies it was the late 90's vs today.

I think most would agree that the acceptance of using EPO is vastly different today then it was in the late 90's
