Been a while between posts for me, but as a general take on it, I'd say Lance's commitment to tell only the truth stopped at the end of the "yes or no" Q&A. Saying he didn't dope in the comeback, calling CVV a liar, the "they asked so I gave" excuse, his refusal to actually apologise and accept liability for his wrongdoings towards individuals - they were all examples of him simply trying to control the narrative rather than actually confront what he'd done. The problem is that the bulk of the interview was him dodging the question and not looking remorseful at all.

Tears will come in 2.0, but they're crocodile tears based on what we've seen. Far too many lies, and no willingness to confront his misdeeds.

Kudos at least to Oprah for bothering to pursue the line of questioning through Emma, Betsy et al - I honestly didn't think she'd do that.

According to Meriam Webster, Lance even lied about the definition of the word cheat:

THAT'S NOT THE DEFINITION OF CHEAT. IT'S:
to practice fraud or trickery
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cheat

:D:D:D

He was using the urban dictionary. Funnily enough he did give us insight into his warped mind. If 2 things out of ten are lies and the rest truths, he writes it all off as lies. Probably can go both ways, whichever suits him in the moment. Inside the mind of a very practiced liar.

Love it someone finally saying atleast some of what needs to be said.

Stopped just short of saying Hein and Fat Pat need to go.

Well according the UCI all is good.

“Lance Armstrong’s decision finally to confront his past is an important step forward on the long road to repairing the damage that has been caused to cycling and to restoring confidence in the sport.

“Lance Armstrong has confirmed there was no collusion or conspiracy between the UCI and Lance Armstrong. There were no positive tests which were covered up and he has confirmed that the donations made to the UCI were to assist in the fight against doping.

“It was disturbing to watch him describe a litany of offences including among others doping throughout his career, leading a team that doped, bullying, consistently lying to everyone and producing a backdated medical prescription to justify a test result.

“However, Lance Armstrong also rightly said that cycling is a completely different sport today than it was 10 years ago. In particular the UCI's introduction of the biological passport in 2008 – the first sports federation to do so - has made a real difference in the fight against doping.

“Finally, we note that Lance Armstrong expressed a wish to participate in a truth and reconciliation process, which we would welcome.”

That video seems to be good evidence that Lance did come clean. She is not fat but she definitely is crazy. In fact she appears to be a lunatic. Just because Lance lied about a lot of things does not mean that everything that is said about him is true. That Betsy hospital statement seems quite far fetched as does some of the allegations by Floyd regarding the Team Bus breaking down and some of Hamilton's statements. But then again Floyd and Tyler both do have medical mental health issues. Betsy has always come across as crazy and not believable. Just because Lance is liar does not suddenly make many of these people sane or trustworthy. This video just adds more evidence to the contention that she is nuts.

Your posting history speaks volumes. Don't worry, Nim, it's a serious undertaking to wean yourself off of all that Kool-aide™ you've been drinking ( since at least the 2009 Tdf, you know, the one which Alberto Contador won!). Just take it day by day.

Your statement is disgraceful and should earn you a ban from this forum.

Watched bit and pieces of the Interview including the part uploaded on Youtube.and Betsy's wonderful IV on CNN.

He definitely comes across as a sociopath not showing any true remorse.

The comments he made out Betsy and joking that he never called her "fat" and not apologizing to Emma certainly shows he has no empathy for women.

I think this will be a PR disaster for him. The whole world got to know what we've known for years.

So you think he was going as far as he could with his answers? Sure he had some instructions by his lawyers to not talk about certain issues.

After all i am ok with the confession, given the circumstances.

We all should remember that he said more today than Ulle ever did, a clinic "hero" BTW (yes, i like him too :)).
Reminded people earlier of this when they started complaining.
The sad and shameful Ulle-shows and PKs were in my mind all the time, when I saw Lance sitting there.
I think many people don't want to remember those, or they just missed those really sad episodes he delivered, delivered to his fans and supporters.
Ok, he has never been a great talker and was/is in difficult situation too, but no....I was so much ashamed in those moments.

Never expected YOU :D to mention this. Chapeau.

I am satisfied too. This is not easy, even for Lance.
Mines and gallows hidden everywhere.

He is only human, only stupid athlet and didn't kill anyone.

"Professional victims" was an accurate comment on her and the rest of them.

When I got up I thought : First thing that will appear on CN will be moaning Greg and moaning Betsy.
They are really getting on my nerves.
And all those "cheated" moaning journalists, who suddenly jump ship, nearly make me puke. What a pack of hypocrites. bah

They should all join together into some self-help group.

I say, now that even Lance did it: Greg, now it's your turn ! No EPO doesn't make it any better. Your "pure" "freaky natural talent" seems as ridiculous as Lance's transformation miracle.
Nearly each of the champions admitted or got caught. Only Greg was pure and clean. This makes ME sick. Especially when I think about Fignon, who was by far a greater champion - because he admitted and is able to rest in peace now.

Besty Andreu hit the nail on the head

Andreu: He has one chance to tell the whole truth. If he does not tell the whole truth, then I think he has completely shot his chance at redemption and forgiveness. And he is going to forever imprisoned.

I've been told, 'Calm down, it's baby steps. The truth will come out slowly. You've gotta be f------ kidding me. He's the one who chose this forum [to be interviewed by Oprah]. He has one shot."

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/more/news/20130117/betsy-andreu-lance-armstrong/#ixzz2IKCa3jFB

"He has one shot" and he blew it!

This guy is not sorry, he hasn't changed, he is a cornered rat trying to save himself.

The conclusion I am rapidly reaching about this whole saga is that Armstrong believed he would be protected by the powers that be and to a certain extent he was when the FBI investigation was dropped last year.

Whoever called halt on that investigation knew that the money trail didnt stop at Armstrong and involved individuals not only within cycling but within the USA establishment. What they didnt bank on was the fact that the public are demanding to know who else was involved.

Armstrong therefore knows that if he names names, those in the USA establishment will not hesitate going after him on perjury charges and he will end up in prison. This is why he wont throw the UCI under the bus. Verbruggen = Tom Weisel = ?????????? who else. This goes pretty far up the tree in my opinion.
