No justice for Betsy, Frankie, Emma, Lemond and Landis tonight. This interview has been a big waste of time. Armstrong was right when he said he was "running low". Didn't have the balls to tell the whole truth and go back to more BS.

Now, I hope he tells the same story under oath to USADA, then he's going to jail for sure this time. I'm honestly praying for that.

Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira @teixeiramark25:

"Watching @Oprah and @lancearmstrong interview. No matter the topic, Oprah is a darn good interviewer. Good TV."

Okay, so:

- coached not to say 'cancer' because people already (rightly) think it's a shield... 'my disease', etc.

- coached not to say anything that will admit perjury in the SCA case (still hopes to settle out of court?)

- coached not to say anything that could paint him as a controlling figure in USPS (qui tam)

- coached to throw in a couple of jokesy moments amongst the 'contrition', to make him seem human... and he chooses to say 'I won't talk about the details of our private conversation...' and then a minute later breaks that by saying '...and Betsy won't mind me saying this... but I never called her fat'.

Hoo boy. He is sooooo clueless. Totally dead. No sport to come back to for any kind of redemption story, nobody cares about him anymore except to pile on, he's nothing. That's it, dug his grave deeper. Lance you wish you could go back in time so you wouldn't have to be honest with the public, but just with Travis Tygart. Too freakin' bad.

The whole 'look, I'm no fan of the UCI...' start to several sentences sounds awfully alot like the online Armstrong defenders. 'Look, I'm no fan of Lance, and I'm not defending him, but he's not being treated fairly omg!!!'

Dead in the water. Goodbye, worthless piece of garbage.

To the bolded, he admitted to taking drugs so right of the bat perjury is in full play (assuming a relevant work around for statute of limitations is used a la conspiracy or RICO).

If you are a spy and a double agent the way to give false intelligence is to camouflage it in much truth, so the disinformation will be believed. Armstrong gave nothing that everyone did not know, he confirmed nothing of worth

To the bold, Not true. The one thing he said in the interview that I liked was this. Oprah asked if he (Lance) thought it was possible to win 7 tours without drugs, and he said no. So at least we have from his own lips that his achievement was not possible without the cheating.

He did say he was clean at the races, then confirmed Motoman, then said he couldn't remember the coke can story, then said there were no out of competition testing and then the Bio-passport saved the world, the said at races it was never in your system.

And it's not cancer. It's a diesese.

lance is only convincing as a liar when being defiant. Oprah asked if he was happy winning:

I'm happier today than I've ever been

You're happier with all this going on?

I said I'm happier today, not yesterday.

Between that and his "I never said Betsy was fat" comment, he isn't coming across as anything less than arrogant & clueless.

Yeah, that's complicated. As hog noted he did say he was clean at the races, so that's a fine point, but he clearly said in the SCA deposition that he never took performance enhancing drugs. So you're right, there must be something more than just perjury for himself, perhaps as RR's tweet suggests it's because others lied for him under oath... but still, why refuse to talk about the hospital room incident?

Is it safe to assume I will be able to see a replay of this on YouTube as it was on while I was at work (or more to the point at the pub having lunch beers) today? Or will Oprah dot come provide ongoing access?

That he refused to apologize to Betsy Andreu, to admit that she was being 100% truthful when she spoke about the hospital incident, says all I need to know about whether he actually is owning his actions. He has no remorse. He's as cold-hearted and calculated as a serial killer - would make a good one - so I guess the silver lining on this story is -- thank god Lance cared more about winning than killing.

Maybe those doctors are connect to Livestrong?

Maybe he feels that he owes them something?

Maybe he is afraid that they will come cut off his other nut?

While I agree with your conclusion, I disagree regarding his motive. I actually did not expect him to come clean regarding the Andreu incident, simple because he cannot without facing a jail sentence.

A few greenedge guys talking about the lance armstrong affair.

@ Around 2 minutes the same sort of stuff, cycling suddenly changed 5 years ago. Biological passport etc made it almost impossible to cheat etc etc. Even though Ashenden said that you can still dope today without being caught. Makes me worry about greenedge.

Should make you worry about Australian cycling when Keenan does a good impersonation of jv

That video seems to be good evidence that Lance did come clean. She is not fat but she definitely is crazy. In fact she appears to be a lunatic. Just because Lance lied about a lot of things does not mean that everything that is said about him is true. That Betsy hospital statement seems quite far fetched as does some of the allegations by Floyd regarding the Team Bus breaking down and some of Hamilton's statements. But then again Floyd and Tyler both do have medical mental health issues. Betsy has always come across as crazy and not believable. Just because Lance is liar does not suddenly make many of these people sane or trustworthy. This video just adds more evidence to the contention that she is nuts.

So you think he was going as far as he could with his answers? Sure he had some instructions by his lawyers to not talk about certain issues.

After all i am ok with the confession, given the circumstances.

We all should remember that he said more today than Ulle ever did, a clinic "hero" BTW (yes, i like him too :)).

Betsy has more integrity than a anyone in cycling and Armstrong tried to ruin her family. She has three kids to raise and in the parent Armstrong is not.
