Me neither - brief recap of what Betsy said, please!
Sorry... Betsy covered a LOT of territory.
Hopefully, all the transcripts or unlocked replays will be out there soon.
Way too much to recap. But she was brilliant.

Should have watched CNN instead of Oprah.

Closing comments

"Lance is reported to be worth 100 million, he will have a lot less when this is all over".

Maybe all those big breaks were for commentary on other channels and on the internet.

Why even watch it if nothing except suicide on air want satisfy you guys?

Weirdest moment: Not going into the hospital room thing. No clue why.

Clean in 09-10. Not buying that one for sure. But then like everybody else I basically only believe him when it fits what my expectations are....

TdS.... donation. Was Oprah even listening? He said something like "there where some shady things, but the donation wasn't one. Ok, then ask about some of the shady stuff. But no, she went on with another stupid question.

Half the questions seemed pointless.

Well he admitted a lot more than I thought he would--but absolutely no contrition. Accepted some responsibility, but sidestepped much more.

I can't believe Oprah missed the 'did you give yourself The Disease' since he admitted to using massive drugs prior to the cancer.

For many what he said will be enough to write him off; others will still idolize him.

He seemed to be very degrading when the women in the story Emma and Betsy were discussed...man hates women I think.

Next show on....recapping the interview.

Possible insight to Lance's thinking and choice of words:

Race Radio ‏@TheRaceRadio
Reason he cannot confirm hospital room? Because people lied for him about it....under oath

Not accepting he has been doping most of his life even during his youth. Because that implied pre 1996. That could change perception to the general public eyes. I kind of was expecting that.

I mean, I watched because I was morbidly curious what the guy would say. It was satisfying to see him have to be in a position where he had to at least acknowledge some truth. It's been a looooong time coming. I think it's not outrageous to be frustrated that he can't/won't tell the whole truth. 'Suicide on the air' is a bit hyperbolic, come on.

re: the hospital room thing - he can't admit publicly because of not only his perjury, but other people's.

You and Polish.

Good on the rebound. No, just take the thought elsewhere. You don't even have to apply it to this time, Armstrong or sport. Like the age of Empire or Rome. Talking with people today about the interview and we just agreeded people can behave like animals. Most of us are hypocrites, but some don't realized it or only when we get busted.

Do you think Armstrong fears the UCI, Ferarri and his friends?

Okay, so:

- coached not to say 'cancer' because people already (rightly) think it's a shield... 'my disease', etc.

- coached not to say anything that will admit perjury in the SCA case (still hopes to settle out of court?)

- coached not to say anything that could paint him as a controlling figure in USPS (qui tam)

- coached to throw in a couple of jokesy moments amongst the 'contrition', to make him seem human... and he chooses to say 'I won't talk about the details of our private conversation...' and then a minute later breaks that by saying '...and Betsy won't mind me saying this... but I never called her fat'.

Hoo boy. He is sooooo clueless. Totally dead. No sport to come back to for any kind of redemption story, nobody cares about him anymore except to pile on, he's nothing. That's it, dug his grave deeper. Lance you wish you could go back in time so you wouldn't have to be honest with the public, but just with Travis Tygart. Too freakin' bad.

The whole 'look, I'm no fan of the UCI...' start to several sentences sounds awfully alot like the online Armstrong defenders. 'Look, I'm no fan of Lance, and I'm not defending him, but he's not being treated fairly omg!!!'

Dead in the water. Goodbye, worthless piece of garbage.

He lied about Floyd. Lied about Betsy. Lied about 2001 positive. Comeback was clean?

Even when he tells the truth he's lying!

Never seen anything like it.

If you are a spy and a double agent the way to give false intelligence is to camouflage it in much truth, so the disinformation will be believed. Armstrong gave nothing that everyone did not know, he confirmed nothing of worth

I am ok with what Armstrong confessed. It could have been more, but we shall remember it´s not easy to talk after all those lies.
Rate: B

OW was bad, never going deeper, and sometimes when LA wanted to talk some more she cut him off with a next question. Seemed like she wanted to help him out when he was on his way to make contradictory sentences.
Rate: D-

Twitterverse is blowing up with fact checkers poking holes in some of what he said.

Redemption Meter about to start running in reverse.

He would be worth perhaps a house in Austin if he never doped himself to a professional sport career.

The biggest mistake was talking up the biopassport then denying its validity in. 09 + 010
