I must admit that I'm a nervous wreck right now. Since the route was unveiled, that sixth stage was in the back of my mind. So far, so good, and actually a little better than expected: no bad luck, a solid TTT, the stage is set for a great Tour, redemption. 5 down and 16 to go, as I like to put it.
In a few hours, the entire region will gather to support Thibaut Pinot. His name is everywhere on the pavement. The yellow jersey is within reach. So many marbles are in play...
I'm a nervous wreck and will be at work streaming what I can, restless. Tibopino may not win, but he'll do better than most. He may not win, but not by lack of effort. But I think, I hope, I pray that the crowd will carry him to be like in Lombardia: a fantastic rider, aggressive, decisive. No excuses, no regrets.
And I believe that he can win.
