Pfuh, what the heck kind of damage has postmodernistic relativism done with human brains? Supporting the mediocre?

Well, now that's sorted out, I look forward to seeing 2 riders on the startlist for next year's Tour.

Plus, if those that aren't the stars shouldn't turn up, how does one become a star? All your idea calls for is a cosy club where the best can turn up and call themselves the best and nobody who isn't the best can turn up even if they may in a few years be the best themselves.

It's a bit like the Beautiful People Club in Family Guy. Élitist, nepotist and isolationist, ensuring that those within the closed circle are the top and those outside it stay outside it.

Are you Pat McQuaid by any chance?

Uhm, this year, in the sprint for 5th place
Last year even in the sprint for 3rd place

So, my conclusion is you never watch flanders?

Oh, I've watched Flanders for a while.
I didn't know the bunch-sprint for 5'th was the finale.
My apologies.

Yeah, you'r a smartass aren't you.
My replies were based on classics/single-day races. I couldn't care less about the Tour's. If some team finds a 7'th in the total to be Hercules-achievment, fine by me.
"Élitist, nepotist and isolationist" - you should stop reading french postmodern philosophers. THEY NEVER HAD A CLUE! France is about to be a dystopia of ethnic warfare.

I'm european.Who the hell is Pat McQuaid?

"Alan, stop being xenophobic!"
"Whoa whoa whoa, I thought it was in the contract - no French!"
"Xenophobic is an English word, Alan, it means small-minded fear of foreigners"

None of what I said came from reading French postmodern philosophers. It came from knowing what these words mean.

You're welcome.

Ok, now something is way off here.
I'm not alan, and where am I xenophobic?
where do I fear foreigners? I am positive about belgians, candian, italians, danes, spaniards, germans, norwegians etc.?
No french? what? I never spoke french. Bashing french philosophy, or cyclists?
when am I xenophobic? I have been married to a foriegner, for God's sake. Have you?

Seeing as we are talking about Alcochol and French philosophers

Benjamin Constant was a right ****ant
Who was very rarrely stable
Voltaire, Voltaire was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table.
Comte, they say, could stick it away;
Half a crate of whiskey every day.
Bernard Henri Levi is fond of his dram,
And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart: "I drink, therefore I am"

Leave it LS. The guys a troll. I called this one long ago and im very hesitant to accuse people of being trolls.

Ps in an earlier post i said "the raison detre (for)"

is it tautologising when i say "for" after "raison d'être" seeing as raison detre already means "reason for being" or does the for need to be added to make the sentence work in english?

I think we should stay with Sarte: Life stinks, therefore we should stay in a fantasy-worls all the time. Like marxism.

Ok, TSF.

This time I'm really curious.
I want your definition on the term racism.
This could be interesting.

There is seriously too much alcohol on the forum this evening.

Well, I doubt any of the aussies would aplly for that comment unless they drink at 5am-10am in the morning.

Sky doesn't have the strenght, not much to do with tactics (well except for the early leadouts).

But to pull back a break with Hesjedal, Cunego, Gesink, Wegmann and Breschel, I don't think much teams would be able to do that regardless
Totally right

I think the DS's has a lot to do with it. The A sprint team (henderson, sutton, downing, swift, vigano) for sky has been fine, its the B sprint team that keeps going to early. I think EBH's injuries didnt help.

Why is this another sky thread anyway. Great win for voeckler, and EbH came second. Lets all slate cunego, or hesjedal for messing up the finish, not having enough support :D

Last lap or so was cracking. lets enjoy the race instead of picking fault with everything.
See Dim, it is not just me that has a go at Sky. Maybe your eyes have been opened

Scheirlinckx 5th, not Moreno, not the Euskal dude. But Scheirlinckx

Anyway, looking at the names in the first group(s). This race rocks.

edit
lol at this

@RGUpdate Heb Hagen gezegd dat ie maar eens wat aan zijn sprint moest werken, als Strijkijzer Gesink al zo dichtbij kan komen... ;)

Translated: "I told Hagen that he should work at his sprint some more, if smoothing iron Gesink can come so close in a sprint...."

I was actually thinking that EBH chopped gesink as well when I was watching but Gesink is also a bit all over the place when he sprints.

Great race filled with long breaks, punchy climbs, end of race breads and a worthy champion. Nice to see Ryder H riding aggressively, that man is exciting. I wish more racers were like him.

Good luck for all on Sunday.

Basso WTF has happened since the Giro? He was sick for TdF, is he still sick?

Basso didnt look sick. He just got off bike and walked off. I think it might even have been the team area where he got off as they immediately moved the barriers for him, let him walk through. I think the stop was planned.

blah asif i didn't wake up for this :(
nice win by voeckler, and after reading this thread it would seem gesink did really well to still get 3rd.

And well done to BMC, fulfilling their modest expectations and all :)

Ballan punctured and had a mechnical in places where the heat was on in the peleton so that wasted energy. His result was quite good considering. Shame Bobby G got caught right before the line.

Anyone have a link to some video highlights or last few km? Sorry if this has been hashed out already, I'm late to the party and went back a few pages but only found some weird OT crap.
