Dekker himself has never even said anything about being a Fuentes customer. When asked if Cecchini was the one who doped him, he denied, and said "you can find the answer closer to home", or words to that effect. Fuentes isn't really closer to home.

I assumed he was talking about Rabobank or more directly, Leinders?

oops too slow

Well, I should be more specific, the question was where he got the doping (not who doped him). And personally, actually I always assumed he meant Boogerd.

How could Hamilton know Cancellara was Luigi? The supposed Luigi was at Fassa when Tyler was at CSC.
These guys sometimes saw each other near Fuentes' offices. Maybe he saw the code name of who was there before him, or suchlike.

It wasn't just Hamilton. There were plenty of people on Rock Racing who had been Fuentes' customers.

Cancellara being Clasicómano Luigi is just speculation at this point, though (but that's my bet too).

The problem with Dekker being Clasicómano (Luigi or not) is that the codename doesn't fit him at all. So, it depends on how they got to link him to that code and what evidence they had.

NRC Handelsblad said multiple sources confirmed to them that Dekker was Clasicomano Luigi. It's a good newspaper, they wouldn't likely make a simple mistake, although sources can always be wrong.

Calling Dekker a classic specialist wouldn't fit him in 2006. But then again, neither would Cancellara really. At the beginning of 2006 he had finished 4th and 8th in Paris-Roubaix, good results, but I don't think anybody considered him a real specialist in the classics back then. He was mostly known as a prologue-specialist.

What was strange about Cancellara (and Dekker) is that they both rode terribly at the 2006 Tour de Suisse, and were both removed last minute from the Tour-team because of their lack of shape. Panic and a lack of blood could explain why Cancellara was suddenly so bad at that time.

The only question about the Rock Racing riders calling Cancellara Luigi is whether they knew he was Luigi or whether they thought he might Luigi but did not have proof or whether they where using the code name of an unknown rider to wind him up.

If you have two sources, you already have 'multiple' sources. Zonneveld could have called Hamilton and one of his friends, and he'd have 'confirmation' that Cancellara is Classicomano Luigi.

Because it's clear whom the Rock Racing guys think that nickname belongs to.

the rumors must have already reached Cancellara by now. (I believe also through twitter, if I understood one previous post correctly.)

If Cancellara fails to provide a strong dementi in the next couple of days, he'll be the second primary source.

have you seen jfromm's link one or two pages back?
Cancellara's statements there neatly fit onto Tyler's 'Luigi'.

Yes, but according to Tyler, the next day several team mates hackled Luigi. I'm not sure Cancellara is the kind of guy who'd let himself be hackled.

The fact that he did not reply to Creed verifies it to me.
