Thoughts on Astana so far?

I won't even read this thread to see what people have said because Astana sucks. You read what was in CN today about them not paying and trying to force Johan to let doper Vino ride. Johan was trying to have a clean team and could not be weighed down with these rumors about a doped rider.

Something tells me if Vino sniffs the possibility of winning the Tour, he will make Contador's troubles with Sir Lance look like a lovefest.

I doubt it. I would imagine it's going to be a theme the Lance fans will play on before the tour though. Fact is Lance carried on like a child throwing his toys out of the cot because he was clearly outclassed by a better rider, and hadn't been used to that previously. I think Vino would have already accepted that he's not the rider Alberto is, secondly I don't really think Vino is capable of a top 5 at the tour, let alone being in a position to challenge his team mate.

Agreed. But at least the poster acknowledges Contador was in Johan's clean team

what uru (and the like minded) refuses to see (or can't see) is that the hug vino received from berto (see my avatar) was genuine and based their friendship from the old days. vino is not a backstabber like armstrong. there is a long queue of evidence to prove that. he is capable of dividing the spoils and palmeras instead of imposing his will like armstrong did when he joined astana.

Thirdly, with 2011 contract hanging in the air Vino needs calm and content Alberto (for team's well-being) more than Alberto needs him.

yeah. astana sucks. trying to make themselves look good by defending a leader's jersey in some shyte small race in someplace called "italy."

all the while radio shack is crushing the field in cali, riding with the big boys! in fact, most of their guys showed their strength by making the elite selection of 27 riders over a BRUTAL cat 2 climb in the california coastal range. it was raining and everything. there may have even been a light breeze. some riders were cold at the finish! if that's not prep for the big show i don't know what is.

astana has a lot to learn!

Is it the sponsor and the riders you're referring to or what? Bruyneel must have known what he was getting into when he signed on with Astana, being that it was a Vino creation, made by him for him.

"Rumors about a doped rider"? That is quite interesting considering who he's joined at the hip with but this topic belongs in the clinic so let me cease.

Astana as a team has far exceeded most expectations to the surprise I'm quite certain of Bruyneel and Armstrong. Doubtless that is was their intent to cripple the team out of spite for Contador's insubordination and Vino's power grab during the Tour that had to be embarrassing for Bruyneel. How dare they not genuflect to the majesty of Bruyneel and Armstrong? The nerve of them!

I saw you attack me on the other post and now this. You are as stupid as your post becuse I was not talking about the giro. Did you read the cyclingnews article about Astana not paying its riders and them trying to make Johan take doper Vino onto his team? Is that ok to you Mr. void of ethics and morals adn compassion for the riders that ride hard in this hard sport? How can a county not have money to pay some riders? I'm not all for taking people to court and whine but that team from the country of Russia's armpit not paying people for work and and trying to put dirty riders back in the peloton takes the cake. And now you defend them and bring up the giro like that excuses them and you probably hate Lance on top of that with your backwards logic. Maybe you should post soem pictures of what your brain is thinking so we can follow.

Astana is a speck of sand on the beach of Johan and Lance's life adn team. Like Lance and Johan care about what that backward team does.

Just because Johan signed on doesn't mean it is OK to not pay riders and try to force a team to take a doper. You people are void of all sense of right and wrong just because Lance and Johan are involved. Up is down and black is white and forward is backwards.

I agree with you. I saw this thread because I usually follow what the rattlesnake has to say concerning Astana. It seems to me he is in deep with the eastern block etc. Some type of Menchov love or something.

Astana as a team is the most druged up PED abuseing team in the pro peloton. That is obvious by the Giro team.
