For a rider who wanted to get to a team where he could be the undisputed sprinter, Greipel seems to be riding bizarrely.

I don't think so, noone expected such a large group of riders to come to the finish together (neither a bunch sprint), he possibly thaught a breakaway might have been his only chance.

Anybody know what the tattoo on Greipel's left forearm is? If it is a tattoo. He has some letter there but it's hard to make it out by the pics from today's stage.

Sadly, I saw Andre Greipel wearing one of those power bandson the podium that has now been proven to not make you more balanced.

Today I would like to see a big sprint!

Bos, Chicchi, Degenkolb, Feillu, Keukeleire, Van Dijk and Van Stayen in the top10!

If Greipel wins today's stage, and tomorrow morning's as well, he's got himself a nice buffer for the TT, and he might very well take the overall.

31 over Wiggins and 25 over Westra would be enough? I'm not so sure...

Greipel can TT pretty well, especially on short flat courses. It's hard to gauge how good he really is because sprinters usually don't have any reason to ride hard in time trials.

Yeah he won that Prologue in the Presidential Tour of Turkey last year, but that was a lot shorter.

Yeah, someone was saying that earlier. Looking back at his TT results, he did win the tour of turkey prologue last year (5.8km). Van Garderen was second on that occasion but it was a weak TT field generally and the short ones favour sprinters.

The Giro Prologue last year was 8.4km and Wiggins beat Greipel by 18 seconds, difficult to know if Greipel was going 100% but i would fancy Wiggins to take back 33 seconds on Greipel. Could be very close though if Greipel does get a lot of bonuses, Wiggins did well in the Crit ITT but not sure he is at 100%, of course even if Wiggins doesnt make it then some others still could do.

It's a pity Greipel didn't get more time yesterday as I think he'd need it, Westra too, be a shame if one of them loses out by a couple of seconds on the TT.

They'll only have themselves to blame in that case for not co-operating in the break.
Haha, surely you can't blame Westra for that. He tried everything he could to get them to cooperate.

+1 also Swift, Sutton, Howard & Renshaw getting into the mix. Once again I'm in work so looking forward to everyone's exciting commentary. Keep up the good work :)

If anyone, blame the Russians.

Westra and Greipel did everything to co-operate. But everytime Gusev and Muraviev did either nothing, or attacked.

How is Muravyev Russian? Try Kazakh (or Soviet if you must...).
