Rewatch last year's Wevelgem finale. Or look at the 2022 results.I agree that he seems the fastest sprinter after phillipsen at the moment. Very impressive. However I also have the feeling he is too bad with the hills to win one of the classics..

Super cool comment!! I did not know a family component was involvedIt's kinda impressive how Merlier seems to find another gear when he sees Cameron and his son at the finish
A family component that looks like Frank Vandenbroucke. Uncanny. If you've ever wondered what Frank would've looked like with long hair and make up, just google Cameron.Super cool comment!! I did not know a family component was involved
Makes you think, Frank would've been quite the pretty drag.A family component that looks like Frank Vandenbroucke. Uncanny. If you've ever wondered what Frank would've looked like with long hair and make up, just google Cameron.
Yes , this is why merlier is probably my favourite sprinter at the moment. The sprint he did on nokere korse yesterday, was the kind of sprint that I would see as a kid from pettachi, Sagan, Cavendish and make me think that racing was the coolest thing in the world.A compliment Merlier certainly deserves:
Aesthetically, Tim is one of the finest sprinters to watch. You can see his leg speed in perfect balance with raw power, because he rarely swerves or moves his body too much. It's a bit comparable to Italian greats Cipollini and Petacchi, although Merlier's kick displays a bit more force. He's like a slingshot or a catapult. Nokere today was a fine example.
A great win for Merlier and this Giro proved the doubters wrong that said he couldn’t keep it together after the first week. Hopefully he goes to the Vuelta as well, last year was terrible for him missing all the GTs.
You’d think so, can definitely pick up some wins.TM got the better of JP for the second time this week. Pati has got to send him to the TdF, right?
And it was the only sprint he contested, the rest of the race was for Philipsen.Without Remco’s ambitions he would always be selected for the Tour. Weird that such a sprinter only has 1 win in the Tour, but he doesn’t even get a chance the last years.
What a season he’s having.
And got rid of the talk that he can’t win after the first couple days in a grand tour.He is underrated. He has won twice as many sprints as Philipsen in races both started (12 vs 6). With Mvdp in support it could have been more.
