My problem isnt that people point out that they did a right prediction, but its just completely unnecessary to say that everyone else is completely stupid and knows nothing about cycling. You are behaving like a child who boasts about having a better grade on a test than his classmates and afterwards tells everyone how easy the test was. I guarantee you that if Landa would have lost 2-3 minutes nobody would have made fun of you.

Its who he is. Did the same on the first ITT, ridiculing all us newbies to the sport who don't have any clue what we are talking about.....

Would really like that someone other than us told him that it would me admirable if he changed his behaviour, I think people also will get surprised by just how much trash he posts in the Contador-thread

I'll say you more, after the 2015 dauphine, blackmamba stated froome would stand no chance to win the tour and it's entirely between nairo and bertie.

what annoys me the most, there are a lot of strange posters who are in sad earnest convinced that the whole cycling should revolve around cyclists they like. it cracks me up. :D

Ouch. Even five said Landa would gain time.
Yep 83 votes and no one got it right. And still time and time again I read about a myriad of things in this forum that everything is obvious an that everyone should have seen everything coming. Time and cognitive dissonance, invictus ad infinitum.
Pffff, the only reason why nobody voted for that option was because the elite and knowledgeable cycling fans like blackmamba were too busy to vote.

On the eve of the time trial, Astana coach Paolo Slongo estimated that Nibali could gain a minute or more on Landa over the 40-kilometre test. He was speaking from experience, of course, having worked with the Basque at close quarters during his two years at Astana. His apparent improvement against the watch since joining Sky this season came as a surprise.

Oh wow, the procycling coach who worked with Landa for two years failed to see this one coming even as some cn forum experts knew it all along!

An improvement was always to be expected. Last year proved that a) he was a legitimate contender for grand tours and b) he now had a reason to work on his time trialling

It's the magnitude of the improvement that is so shocking.

Landa last year was far worse at TTs than 2013 Quintana. When Quintana became a legit threat to GCs, he too started working on his TTs, but it's taken him 3 years to get to a similar level to the Valverdes and Nibalis of the world (and he's still a bit worse). Meanwhile, Landa's got to a higher level in less than 6 months (ok he probably had a perfect day and is still most likely a similar level to Pinot instead of Nibs and Valv, but it's a remarkable improvement nonetheless)

To be fair I don't think anyone predicted what a crazy TT it was. The likes of Zakarin losing lots of time indicates it was predominantly all about bike handling and taking risks, which Landa appeared to do, rather than TT strength.

Before I buy into this 'magical transformation' I'd like to see him in a more straightforward 40km TT that favours the specialists.

Gaining, say 1.30, would still have fallen short of many of the predictions and been hailed as a Landa victory by others.

It's incredible how 0/83 got it right. Sometimes we as a collective know ... all about what's going to happen. I tried running a sheet for over a year on fake bets on races on what I perceived was my great knowledge. I didn't always put down a bet, only if I felt that it had real good value. I ended up losing money over the season, so apparently my predictions were garbage.

This sport is really unpredictable at times...
