Surprised and delighted by FDJ's TTT ....look what you can achieve when you set your mind to it

But SKY and Movistar ??? With top TTers in the squads ? Just goes to show its a true team discipline and not about individuals
And calling someone who is on a winning TT team a non body totally flies in the face of this
Movistar didndt have Malori (probably their top TTer) and Castroviejo, it was still a strong team, but those 2 are very important and could have made a difference.

Teejay high up in the GC already. The stars have aligned for the young american.

No worries, he'll find a way to muck it up :(

Nah, he might do fine in this race...he's my personal favorite for the win.

Well if he's good enough he should because his team has him poised and positioned. He has just disappointed to many times.

Nibali looking like he wants this race :). TJ will be shark bait :D

Carlton Kirby: "Sébastien Reichenbach finished in 10th today. What a good boy."

He won't shut up about Simon Clarke coming 4th, I get the impression he puts bets on or something because he becomes fixated with random riders

That is exactly what he does. I don't remember which race(s) it was (possibly Vuelta '14?) but I remember him constantly talking about Darwin Atapuma and tipping him to win about 10 different stages.

Yep, he has done it with Matt Goss, Leigh Howard and Tyler Farrar in previous years as well.

He is teeing up Clarke for MSR something chronic, the whole commentary will be about him.

Tinkov sucking bawls as per usual.
Sagan has no support.

There was 1 in the wheel of Formolo who did the chasing of the bunch. Downhill with a lot of corners. Goodluck getting a decent bike handler back.

Good racing by Stybar today. Smart most of all.

What the heck ...Gatto was right up there at end ...and Bennatti was shouldering people on last climb
Yeah, Bennati for some reason decided to bump a rider that was actually pulling the peloton, and subsequently dropped back and was of no use. In proportion to his standing as a world champion, his support (not only today) is very poor. That's just a fact.

Bennatti fell back because of the gradient but at that stage most of the favourites had no one ...Sagan had Gatto who chased ...Stybar had Bramilla but Eddy Bos had just himself

Sagan does not win because he is not always the strongest but also his racing nounce is missing at times
Its not his teammates fault

And who had a support?! Gatto chased all the way, in fact only Sagan had some kind of support beside Cannondale, but it's hard to bring back such strong rider as Stybar on a finish like this. Maybe the best option was to go after him immediately.

Yes, I forgot that part. I also noticed he said EBH would ride in support of Reinardt Janse at MSR.

Sagan should have gone with Stybar. The last part was so technical, that strength didn't matter much.

As I surmised. The last 3 km were CRITICAL. Even a 5 sec gap, with all those turns, and out of sight out of mind. Stybar played it brilliantly. Now Sagan is either just too confident of his sprint, or he didn't have the legs to follow. I'm inclined to think the later.

Very nice stage design. A finisseur took it as expected. Gatto should have jumped on Stybar wheel immediately but he probably didn't have the legs after the steep gradients. Nibali looked fresh.

Well when I voted for Pinot before the race he was 10% chance - now he is 20% chance after a TTT that has no bearing whatsoever on final GC. Thanks to all those CNTS that voted afterwards

Julián Arredondo in the 2015 Vuelta al País Vasco was one of the worst. He literally started screaming "Arredondo!" for no reason at all after Felline won a stage because he legitimately thought Arredondo must have been leading out the sprint. And he berated him for not having played into the GC. There was also another race where he spent over an hour hyping up Tosh van der Sande's potential as a wildcard at the end of a stage from a reduced bunch, blissfully unaware that poor Tosh had been caught up in a crash, dropped and abandoned earlier in the stage.
