So Sagan would almost certainly have won the GC if not for the ridiculous stunt by them & Etixx yesterday.

GVA took second yesterday in the intermediate sprint when Sagan's teammate sat up.

Sagan has finished 2nd in more than a quarter of his races so far this season (5 2nds in 3 classics, 13 stages, 2 GCs)

Well, I'm really rooting for Peter for the next 3 monuments. I like Cancellara a lot, but Peter is paying his "dues" of having to deal with everybody against him. Eventually it will pay off.

It is paying off for Greg, too.

Indeed, but that was more of a split-second mistake. They hade like 15 kilometers yesterday to realize that pulling their most dangerous GC-rival to the line while he refused to work, was not a good idea.

Particularly considering that Sagan almost certainly would've been top 3 in a normal bunch sprint, whilst GVA probably wouldn't have been.

It's about same as Bennati's fault as it was Sagan's fault few years back in tour of Oman, where he took that 1 point from Nibali, who ten lost to Velits by 1s overall.

Ok :)

The difference was a second...could have been found or lost anywhere
But if the Gods don't shine on you.....
