Pidcock will never be a gt contender. It is so obvious my lord. He will be a fantastic classics rider and he should focus on that.
In his first Tour he was still top 10 after 2 weeks without the best preparation. He's still young. Focus on classics the upcoming years and then maybe try GC. Ineos knows his numbers, they now best.

A harder stage. Not a harder climb. Unless you are referring to a climb at the halfway point of the stage and as such of no consequence.
The murito in that stage was 1.5k at 10.1%, this is 3.2k at 6.9% and therefore definitely easier. Only like a quarter more elevation gain in twice the distance.

Van Aert almost took himself and Pidcock out of the classics there...
