Bigham quits his role at
@INEOSGrenadiers

"How I want to do performance is not aligned with how Ineos wanted to go. [...] I feel that a lot of performance we're leaving on the table and that frustrates me, It's clear we should be doing things better"

Yeah working with these guys is the same as working with Ganna and Tarling.

:) Please make Ineos win the TTT at P-N tomorrow.

I'd say their chances are very good, especially if Watson is not sick. He was awesome at Omloop (third over the Muur) but lost many minutes yesterday. With one man down it could be hard to win.

That wasn't really the point, was it?
Well kind of. Alpecin is a team that doesnt need result in every single race they do, and therefore it's not necessary to send guy X to race Y to make sure you get a result.

Phillipsen have done an average of just over 60 race days since joining Alpecin, and did only 55 race days last year. Being restrictive with the calendar for their stars are obviously a part of their strategy. Last year Philipsen had 10 race days before San Remo. He will have the same this year.

Groves is scheduled to do both the Giro and the Tour (+ a lot of classics and Catalonia), it does make sense to keep his powder dry as well.

Also, re. Van der Poel, he came here not having studied the route book and in hopes there are a few stages comparable to '21, suited for him. Who's going to tell him?
Hahahahahaha wtf even goes through his head? He reminds me of the story about that French guy they found with 90% of his brain missing, but still able to function normally

That should be a benefit for a cyclist with all the weight the brain takes up.

While not studying the roadbook for 2 seconds is classic MvdP, I'm gonna be generous and assume he's talking about that uphill drag sprint he won, while all we remember is that murito stage.

Maybe stage 3 and 5 he has a chance? But yeah, the other stages are or just normal sprints and 1 climbers stage.

I seriously hope he looked at the tour route and see that this is his one in a lifetime opportunity for him to win green.

I don't think he cares about the green jersey.

That climb, if we can even call it as such, on stage 3 is a big nothing. I'd be insanely surprised if Milan is dropped there. Only the first ~2 kilometers are worth noting, at about 8%. The other 16 are at an average gradient of about 1,7%.

He obviously just rolled through.

The real question is why Philipsen or Groves is not at either PN or TA? If Van der Poel doesn't deign to sprint, it will be two completely wasted races for the team.
Alpecin doesn´t care about TA or PN.
