1st k is ~8% average, but every climber entering this in position 100 will of course be doomed anyway.

They also found a nice little gate to go through with 300m to go, but by then not many will be left, I guess

Has anyone complained about it, or are they gonna wait till they're in the hospital?

That's not a hairpin, but an oblique line. There won't be many entering the gate together by that time, as a selection will have been made.

In any casez I rode through that gate, opposite direction, at the start of the Granfondo della Vernaccia di San Gimignano, 2013. Can't wait to watch this today.

I appreciate the fact Tirreno Adriatico hasn't succumbed to the 'give big teams the low big number' trends others have. Good old fashioned alphabetical.
