Just think about having every rider in their best form. Most of them are better than Nibali for sure, although I've never seen what those Colombians who only ride in S-America can do.

Is this a list where you name riders who WERE PERHAPS better climbers than Nibali at one point in their career? How is Scarponi, Horner, Basso, Gadret or Samu currently better than Nibali? Didn't Nibali and Sagan drop Samu like a rock today on hill? And you talk about the lack of climbing consistency earlier in this thread. Cobo climbs well for 3 weeks every few years and that makes him a superior climber?

The one's in bold are very much either unproven vs Nibali or simply not better!
This is of course my opinion.:D

I don't judge on one year, scarponi was better in 2011, so was samu, samu had injuries so I still rate him higher. scarponi too, but he might decline for good this year, we will see and horner is a better climber too. this is opinion, but I know my stuff.

of my list, at least 14 can eb made a fair argument of that they are better climbers than nibali:

RODRIGUEZ OLIVER Joaquím "Purito"
CONTADOR VELASCO Alberto
RUJANO GUILLÉN José Humberto "Cara de Niño"
ANTON HERNANDEZ Igor
EVANS Cadel
SANCHEZ GONZALEZ Samuel “Samu”
POZZOVIVO Domenico
FROOME Chris

SCARPONI Michele
QUINTANA ROJAS Nairo Alexander
ROLLAND Pierre
HENAO MONTOYA Sergio Luis "El Venao"
VALVERDE BELMONTE Alejandro

I shall spare you most of the colombians, although they would kick nibali's *** in a good mountain. nibali would be lucky to finish top 20 on linea in a good colombian field. even henao had trouble finishing within 3-4 minutes from camargo for instance on linea or any steep long climb in colombia, yet in europe he;'s a very good climber.

still of these 14 names I think you can make argument that they are better. I certainly see it that way

What a top 10 (GC) in a 1 week stage race:

1 Nibali (AST) 27:57:26
2 Froome (SKY) +0:34
3 Rodriguez (KAT) +0:37
4 Contador (TST) +0:48
5 Kwiatkowski (OPQ) +0:58
6 Horner (RLT) +1:05
7 Santambrogio (VIN) +1:20
8 Niemiec (LAM) +2:54
9 Amador (MOV) +2:58
10 Poels (VCD) +3:08

Kwiatkowski has been amazing. I know it's only a week long stage race but given how hard it's been and that he's only 22, he must be considered a possibility for the grand tours in the years to come.

You can make an argument for pretty much anything you like, but will it be a good argument?
Guys like Rujano, Cobo, Anton have a couple of good races through thier whole careers. Nothing in the last couple of years so very hard to judge.
Pozzovivo is going great in Trentino, but has he ever showed that much in a gt when everyone is at peak form? (not that he is not a great climber)
Evasn, Sanchez, Scarponi would all suprise me if they got up to NIablis climbing level of the 2012 tour again.
This is not a very strong case you have brought us here I am sorry to say Ryo

The list is so outdated that's a joke. That's Ryo ladies and gents! :)
