Judging by the size of that trident, Cadel's devilish smirk and the petrified look on the dog's face...........................The Sheep said:
ACF already posted that bit (naturally).Dekker_Tifosi said:Nice bit of recognition from Evans:
After wrapping up the overall win in Italy, Evans reflected on the final time trial on his personal web page, http://www.cadelevans.com.au, noting the improvement of Rabobank's Robert Gesink, who climbed to second overall and went four seconds quicker over the 9.3km course.
"Gesink seems to have improved his time trialing to another level this year, and today he proved it again. I was ok, took me 2-3km to get into my rhythm, having eight months since my last 'crono', not surprising, but a bit of a worry when you only have 6km to make for lost time. My TT legs eventually got into gear, enough to hold onto my GC position, and happily get one of pitch fork trophies."

Anyways most important thing is the c0cky c0ck (cf. either Ryo Hazuky or Ryaguas, I can never seem to keep the two apart) won the stage![]()

Spine Concept said:Meh, I'll bite, got some spare time anyway. Gesink merited his 2nd position no matter how you want to spin it. Yes, he wasn't up to his normal standards on the climbs but that's why it's a 7 stage race inluding ttt's and itt's. The parts where he lacked he made up for in other parts. It could also be said that he only got 2nd because he foolishly lost more time than he had to due to bad positioning or he would have won. Thus, let's not be instigators of *** arguments based on flawed logic.
Scarponi hoped that by moving to a WorldTour team his TTT nightmares would be over. But alas, he chose a team of non-TTersThe Hitch said:I have not been on here all day to avoid spoilers so this has probably been mentioned but never forget, Gesink only got 2nd because of the ttt.
Just reminding you
My man Michelle once again screwed by a ttt
Wont be as bad at the Giro this year though.

Dekker_Tifosi said:Just another way to put it. Gesink wasn't freewheeling like Andy Schleck so that's a bad analogy.
The Hitch said:Lol. You can not be seriousgesink should have been higher because he didnt perform on the climbs
Hell, why dont we just give Andrew the medal then. He didnt perform but should have, which is pretty much your logic.
I do enjoy ttts, particularly short ones, but when someone gets the entirety of their gap to the next place and then some from the head start that they recieved from the ttt, it is entirely fair to suggest that they didnt quite deserve it.
Its like giving one team a 3-0 head start in the world cup final, then when they win 5-4 suggesting they are deserved winners.

Oldman said:And a potential precursor to a GT performance. For those pimping Gesink as the next big thing some of the Old big things are still a factor. It's way early.
on3m@n@rmy said:Yes, if you mean he'll only get that much better by the time THE GT comes around. That's what I'm hoping. As ACF pointed out, he was probably a little rusty in the ITT. He's got plenty of time to shake off that rust.
