Favourite team has always been the Quicksteppers as they were always classics inspired , more than favourite teams I have disliked teams - Lidl Trek
(nee Postal) Visma ( nee Rabobank ) EDF ( American although they have riders I like ) IPT ( washed up old riders + other complicated stuff).

Where are you getting the Trek = Postal connection?
Sure, Trek was created by a merger - in the sense it's usually used in these matters - between Leopard and RadioShack. Pretty sure RadioShack wasn't a continuation of Postal.

Not formally, but after two years with Astana, the US Postal/Disco/Bruyneel/Armstrong core founded RadioShack. In that sense, it's a spiritual successor.

And they still ride Trek just like Lance.

So did Leopard, or Leopard Trek to use the full name. Which at least according to PCS is the team they're a continuation of.
Is Trek the only team that ride Trek?

(Not sure how to find the info on the UCI homepage.)

I root for riders. A rider's style, aggression, emotion, smarts, sheer power, whatever.

The only team I can ever recall rooting for is Quickstep, in all it's various incarnations. They used the team concept to full advantage so often. Great at recruiting and finding riders, great at getting the most out of them, great at tactics in one-day races. I really do enjoy one-day races more than stage races, they're so much more dynamic and tactical. GT team tactics are fairly tied into who's the strongest. There are teams I've not liked in the past because of boring tactics and shady behavior, but the riders also played a part in my dislike.

Where is the
"I donate 10-20 mil yearly to keep my PT team up and running"
option?

or the
"I am loyal to my employer so I support the team I work / ride for"
option?

I mean, you're potentially ignoring some valuable forum members...

Thanks for taking time to reply , I follow my gut feeling as to teams I like/dislike I never would profess that my thoughts are always correct .

I've always supported a mix of individual riders and whole teams.

My initial love for a specific team was seeing Kelme and the way they were always attacking in the mountains in the Tour for example.

I team got really attached to Team Fakta when they signed a bunch of Norwegian and Swedish riders like Arvesen and Bäckstedt. But it wasn't just those specific riders I got interested in it became the whole team and I got really into the gruesome promition battle for points that they were having against Bankgiroloterij - Batavus in 2002. Not dissimilar from the battle between Uno-X and Cofidis really. And Team Fakta managed to gain promotion to TT1 status that year.

At some points I supported Team T-Mobile a bit mainly to pin my hopes on someone to beat Lance Armstrong and bring him down a peg or two.

I followed Credit Agricole while Hushovd was riding for them so I'm not sure if that was just because of him or more than that but I got interested in the team and who they recruited etc. Same thing when Hushovd went to Cervelo.

I was invested in the whole Team Sky thing from the start, partly because of the Scandinavians they signed but I still followed their every move as a team.

I obviously supported the Swedish continental team Team Crescent while they were still a thing.

And lately it's been very much about Uno-X.

Well, I shop at LIDL, but only because they're the one closest to where I live.
I also shopped there before they became a co-sponsor of Trek.

Just seems weird to me to dislike a team because they have some sort of very vague connection to a team that existed over 20 years ago.

Of course there is more to my reasoning but members here shouldn't have to put up with any lengthy diatribe from myself.

Nothing to add to this thread actually, I just wanted to say that I just watched Alien: Earth and your profile pic hugely creeps me out 😄

I don't really care for teams. They're always changing names and kits because of the sponsors, which makes it too hard to even start caring year on year.

I care about riders and races.
