He won Battenkill as a Cat 5 then as a Cat 4 then again as a Cat 3. He has been doping for a quite a while. He turned Cat 2 this year. He only started racing in 2008, so he must have hopped on the juice almost immediately.

NEVER, EVER AGAIN. I still have bad dreams.

Dave.
Hah, I'm a 59 year old cat 2. Sunday I won a local 55+ crit in a 3 up sprint from a break. I don't know what the other guys were on, but I "prepared" by riding 75 miles w/ my 44 year old GF on saturday afternoon and then going to the local bar (or pub, if you are B. Wigans) and consuming a crap load of fried food and beer. So I guess my point is you should have started in the 70-80s when it was a lot easier to get a cat 2 license. ;)

PS. It was my second weekend of crit racing for the year (training for cross). :)

Look out, mastersracer's on a denial bender....
Who me? Nope I have fun when I'm out riding around with the guys, but when the local pro masters show up I get my *** kicked like everyone else. Lucky for me I like cross best these days because skill still evens out vs fitness.
If they tested for hops I'd be screwed.:p

Not a problem, I'll go back to working on my cars and couch surfing.

Didn't USCF introduce Cat 5 in the 80's? ;)

.. Amazing guys would do this, just to be what...the fastest up a climb that means nothing in the grand scheme of things...
Yeah, but this is people. We will do crazy things for a ribbon, 10 minutes of fame, etc.

One or two dopers being caught is perfect. It gives the events a sense of propriety where there is none. It allows the doping to flourish while the UCI/your local federation/bike industry can make some money. None of those parties are individually advocating doping and that's the point. Plausible deniability(sp???) for all and make money at the same time.

Look at it another way, lots of people that have no need for a power meter are well and fully invested in them. EPO use is the next power meter/carbon wheel/whatever to these jokers.

Gabriele Guarini

Gabriele Guarini was the other rider busted for taking EPO for a Gran Fondo.

The height of the idiocy is just remarkable.

Glad to know your priorities are in order.

Not sure why Hops might get banned... Performance Dehancers at best.

Maybe Ray at Ontario can come up with a new class... Hung-over Masters 45+.

I'd probably destroy that field.:D

In reading the post and comments on NYVelocity, one thing becomes apparent. That EPO really does work.

Time to re-start the "So You Think You're Tough" race.

Find a race track, down a beer every lap.

I think Alex Steida won the last official one, but who would ever bet against a Canadian?

You barked up the wrong tree here fatty. You obviously don't know who you're posting about.

I'm posting about complaining, whining losers.

Filled with excuses because they're intimidated and beaten by old crit specialists. Keep calling names, while Masters take your prize money in "Pro-am" crits. We'll let you play with each other in the hills. We don't have the time. And young bucks are much better there. Most times, anyway.

Or...get a "P" on your USAC and UCI licenses and ride Pro-Only races. Simple soution to anger about old crit guys beating you. Or are you not good enough?

The complainers aren't Pros. They are Pro-Am racers, or Neo-Pro at Best. They are forced to still race with Amateurs. Isaac Howe is an example.

Maybe we can call all these US racers "Pro", but let's call these complainers what they really are. Neo-Pros. At best.

Pros ride the Pro Tour. George Hincapie is an example.

Talk in another couple months when I finish the road season. Keep posting, Seacrest...you obviously spend many hours here!

Couple of dopers. The 2nd positive was Gabriele Guarini, a Italian from outside for Florence. 50-54 age group. Behind him is David Anthony

I would be much more impressed if one of these guys would have registered with a photo of Tom Boonen on his ID.
