I am a Froome fan, but I hope Tom can win the TT, and save us all from dozens of pages of rants

You should wear that like a badge of honor :p

Meanwhile, this is gives me great hope for Dumoulin. Really my favourite <30 rider by far. He's really got it all. Only thing that speaks against him is that he's Dutch

DNF in local crit today. It had some innocent 'kinderkopjes' aka small cobblestones, and apparently it didn't feel good. Nothing terrible, but he didn't want to take chances

Yeah I'm not too worried. It was after 1 hour and on cobblestones

It's not like Rio at all and thats still a while away

Maybe he should give Matt Hayman a call and quizz him on getting enough training effort done on a stationary bike instead of riding cobbles against doctor's orders.

I did that race (Chaam) a couple of times and already wondered why he even started.

Those stones are just enough to hurt.

So, what do you think?

Has his week or so off the bike damaged him, will his arm still hurt?

I think he will only be rivalled by Froome, and he will have too much for Froome and it will be a Dutch gold.

I'm rooting for Dumoulin against the Alien. Would be nice if he wins it. No offense to the aliens. :D

Dumoulin said he thinks his injury won't be a problem next week and he can ride for the full 100 percent. It's gonna hurt but that won't stop him.

A normal person wouldn't expect to be at 100% with a broken wrist...
Guess pro riders aren't really normal people.
Guess the Olympics isn't really a normal situation either.

"broken" is a very bad term. Sometimes "broken bone" means 3 weeks in bed. Other times it's a minor inconvenience that will heal by itself. When he went for x-rays after the crash it was 50-50. If the fracture had been different he wouldn't be racing in Rio.
