Tony Martin was so strong today .....created and kept the break ot Cancellera & Sagan

Since it was his first time riding the race it looks like he could be one for the future
He certainly has the engine to win it.

We should create new thread really, this thread should be locked away and saved forever. This was the chapter Tony was going become Ulrich 2.0, not some mere cobblestoner :D

Except for beginning of his carreer Tony ever striked me as likeable guy. Whatever happens with him I feel sorry for him. But what the hell happens?

So Tony Martin started off as an all-around rider, a possible future GC contender.

Then he became a TT specialist.

Looks like it's time for another makeover. If so, what do you see in his future? Grand Tour Domestique? 1-day classics rider? 1-day classics domestique? Retirement? Join Sky and win the Tour de France by more than 3 minutes?

I like what he did in Paris-Roubaix this year.

He lacks the track pedigree and the right passport to become a TdF winner at Sky

.

Great all arounder. Will never win a GT as he is a terrible bike handler

I've been a little out of touch lately but did I miss something? I don't remember any hints about this move. He's been a great team player, but maybe he'll be able to kick start his own results with the move.

Alpecin coming on board as a sponsor meant that Katusha was looking for a name German rider and Martin really was the only one left on the market, I remember reading somewhere a couple of weeks back that they were interested in him
