Actually I would prefer it to be like the Tour de Suisse when the route for next year has been announced around the final day of the ongoing edition. But one can't have it all and there does need to be a boring presentation...

i much prefer the giro style. this is the 21st century, interaction with the fans is the way to go.

also every year the the tour route is pretty much "leaked" before the official presentation so all that suspense the ASO creates doesn't really works. at least RCS can say they were the ones revealing their route first hand and know that the fans are "happy" with the route as they were allowed to have some input

something needs to soften in October, right? July is already pretty sweet. or Tour of Beijing is enough for you?

Oh, I'll happily trade Beijing and Eneco for the coverage of the last hour of the Giro dell' Emillia ;)

But I see your point regarding the anticipation/speculation aspect.

I want a good mountain ITT, 15km or so prologue, at least two other ITT's and no short TTT if there is one??? Maybe get some climbs back from the 07 route??? and get them in the first week???

However i did like the start this year in the Vendee/ Brittany region. Especially stage 1/4

I like your suggestions, though I'd be very surprised if they had 4 ITT's!

The Perysourde descent finish would be good to see again.

Andy will be second again ;)

Who will win depends on AC verdict.

Uhhh, they certainly didn't want this. Hopefully nobody will get fired for this:eek:

But a very unusual route as it seems. They avoided high mountains more then ever:eek: If'd be A. Schleck i would go to the Giro:D
Clearly Evans is the huge favorite on this one.

I couldn't believe how boring it looked, at first sight. En ligne, en ligne, en ligne, en ligne... only 4 mountain stages! (and we know that what the ASO likes to call a mountain stage doesn't necessarily have to be one)

I'm sure (or, I hope to the higher powers) some of those étapes en ligne will be hilly ones, like Liège-Seraing which will be a Gilbert stage.

So Toussuire and Peyragudes are the only MTFs? Neither are really steep or challenging in distance.

Annonay will be a short steep uphill finish, can't see too many tough climbs coming earlier in that day though as they exit the Alps.

Nope, hilly stages are called accidentée and not en ligne. That means the stages will be totally flat with a possible lame short uphill finish.
