Apparently the choice of the finish line is dangerous if ridden directly from the climb so they need to loop around.
Last 10km of this 26km decent are flat. With such a sharp climb 26km before the finish bunch sprint is not possible.
Possibly some of city/ies around Foix have paid to A.S.O to have this loop through them...

I think the talk is about narrow streets and chicanes.

Allee de Vilote where the finish seems to be is pretty narrow.

Guys, how do you think, Prudomme realizes that he signed the verdict about his own dismissal?

Lol Arcalis. Even Cerler is a better MTF than that.

Take out the Angliru, and that's more or less the Vuelta 2011 for you.
Nah, the Vuelta put lots of mountain finishes, just a really, really poor final week which meant it petered out rather like Paris-Nice did. And the Vuelta has that horrible tendency of not bothering to make really tough stages, just sticking everything interesting in the last hour for TV. 2011 Paris-Nice just went for the first part of that without bothering with the second.

Wheres Pena Cabarga, wheres Valdepenas de Jaen and most importantly, where is San Lorenzo de Escortial?

With the exception of Pena Cabarga they are just short uphill finishes like Mur de Huy(but harder).

And we saw lots of those finishes in Paris-Nice 2011?

Woops, thought we were just trolling on the Vuelta :p

Cyclingnews should really allow for multiple quoted posts to be seen instead of only 1.

Paris-Nice was indeed horrible. It had one climb that resembled the Sierra Nevada and that was it(in terms of boringness)... The final stage is normally pretty exciting, but this year it was crap because of the boring cyclists in the race.

The Vuelta was also pretty horrible, but slightly less so.

Stage 7's finish looks like a beauty. "Stage 7 to La Planche des Belles Filles (Vosges): average 20% grade on final 200m (w/28% part!)"
