So by this logic the tour should have no flat stages?

Where did I say that?
Of course it should have flat stages, don't put words into my mouth.
What I said is quite clear no need to over react.

Hill power rider, who can descend,ITT and defend attacks in the Mountains

Verse 2 stages with long range attacks possible.

Frändy will not be happy, Evans, Brad will be , but again Contador if riding will be the happiest.

May come down to team strength in the 1st 10 days again

And exactly the bolded part might make Bertie nervous.

If anything, why wuld AC be the happiest? The mountain stages are not overly viiolent and there are many tt km's. He is definetly not a certainty for the win. MOre tougher stages he would become more harder to beat.

Because he can do all at a very high level.

You're saying stages shoudn't end in Pau. Unless I missed something the stage into Pau is flat. So I'm wondering if you dislike Pau or dislike flat stages but I guess it's just Pau then:confused:

Dont think Bertie is unhappy either. He wanted more ITTs. And in the mountains he should be able to drop every1 but Andy if he shows up in normal form (i.e. not doing the Giro as prep)

Stages into Pau seem to come instead of (proper) mountain stages.

He'll take many minutes in the mountains alone already on guys like Wiggins, Menchov and Cadel Evans. He can destroy the peloton on easy climbs as he showed in Arcalis, Verbier, Etna and the stage he gifted to Tiralongo in the Giro. He's also the best time trial specialist among the GC contenders thus if he's allowed to start and without any bad luck he'll win.

Aye he often makes a difference on "easy" climbs. Uses his explosiveness to get clear and he climbing+TTing ability to increase the gap. In the Giro he was at his best on the easier climbs tbh.

I think it suits him just as good.
Of course he would prefer more mountains, it is logical, the mountain stages are not overly decisive. The big time will be in the time trials. AC is definetly less dominant in the time trial than in the mountains so of course he would want more mountains.

The riders looked a bit bored but I don't think it was the route. Usually they all look a bit drunk at these things and I saw no signs of that this time.

At least everybody but Cav seems to have dressed appropriately.

So? He can still take loads of time in the few summit finishes there are next year... And he won't lose a lot of time (if he loses time at all) in the TTs because he is definitely one of the best time trialists among the GC men, if not the best.

(1). Bypassing Mollard does the same. A bit inelegantly but it's possible.

(2). Wrong idea in the Tour devoid of climbing

(1):
No it doesn't. Look at a map. If you want the climb from St Jean de Maurienne to La Toussuire you have to get to St Jean de Maurienne first.

(2): What?
