Looking like the early climbs are having a bigger impact than i expected. 25 riders off the front including most of the big hitters. they have nearly 9 minutes on the peloton and it is early days yet. there a few chasers in between but at this rate the race for the overall has just been greatly reduced.

even if they get chased back later on when it flattens out shows how is climbing well

JTl and Charteau are there with team mates

Pliuschin and Kern fro Leopard. Riesebekke for the Rabos

Le Bouch for Auber 93, Zakarin for Itera, Damien Howson in there for Jayco

Atlas seem to have missed the break but have Kusztor chasing at 2 minutes

Wow, they're making it real easy for JTL.

Interesting that Riesebeek is there for Rabo CT, they have 3 GC guys but he isn't one of them.

Perhaps he's peaked for this race, that must also be the reason he wears the '1' race number of his team.

Steve Bekaert switched from genius to debacle throughout the Aosta maybe some consistency now?

Well he was sick the first few days. At the end his results were better.

Frankly after this Tour de Force, whoever wins the Volta is going to know their win was gifted by the cowardly decision to exclude the greatest talent of his generation.

Tête de Course
Ilnur ZAKARIN (26)
Dimitri LE BOULCH (31)
Jonathan TIERNAN-LOCKE (41)
Alexandr PLIUSCHIN (54)
Warren BARGUIL (91)

Can any of the others climb for ****, because they're going to finish 5 or 6 minutes in front, if not more.

Maybe, but his DS mentions Goos, Olivier, and Minnaard as the GC guys

It appears this break was formed before the climbs even started, so something went wrong there.

Barguil is a big talent.

Well, the Tour Alsace is over a little sooner than expected... another one for JTL, get him a WT contract already, this is ridiculous.

Hopefully Endura get some decent invites and if he can now have a 2nd wind after a long spring of injuries he can top the Conti individual rankings for the year before moving on.

He's scheduled to ride Vuelta Ciclista a León (7th Aug) to keep the ball rolling.

I mean now.

The guy isn't just strong, he also knows how to join the right move, like he did today.

Now? Because he beat up on some continental and DN1 guys and people born in the 90's?
