Which is an indication that his form isn't all that. I don't think he'll win. I think Tony Martin, but I hope Contador. Also wouldn't rule Velits out. And look out for Thomas de Gendt to be a surprise top 5/10.

Almost exactly my thoughts, except for Contador but that might have to do with you being a fan :p, I ll go for 1 Martin 2 Cancellara 3 Velits 4 Hagen en De Gendt to surprise with a 6/7th place.

The times posted so far are slower than in the Dauphine

No suprise there after a 3 week tour i guess. Westra rode in the Dauphine too, he was around 30th place there. His time should be an indication of what is possible (best people should go 3 mins faster)

Yes but if they arrived together at the finish line, I bet Cav will win the sprint :)

Haha, that seriously reminds me of a time trial where Cancellara got outsprinted on the line :D

Looks like all bad news for Schlecklet...

There is rain or damp roads forecast, and the road through Saint Martin d' Uraige appears to have a few twists (hairpins) coming into town and then in the top of the descent (road D280), until they come back onto the D524 for the run back into Grenoble.

Maybe not at all suited to Andy? He admits that he has not even done a recce of the course as of Friday afternoon - Cadel has raced it not many weeks ago.

Thoughts?

Westra best at 2nd checkpoint. 41:54, 36 faster than Bodnar

But Cancellara will probably beat it by 2 or 3 minutes

You can win a lot in the rest of the TT, Westra was 7 seconds slower then Bodnar at the first point and at the second point he is 36 seconds faster.

Cancellara always powers in the final third. Not great at the moment but watch the gap increase dramatically.
