okkkkkkkkay...=8^!

I wonder ACF if you believe in Omens - Stuey was the last Aussie to wear the MJ before Cadel and he first got to it after winning in Grenoble....

Charly Gaul won 3 stages in the Tour at Grenoble ;)

Ok, I'm starting to doubt Cancellara's time now too. Martin's race to lose I guess.

Ha! That would be good if the omen was true. Evans has said that his idol as a kid was Miguel Indurain and that after 6th attempts he had not won a tdf. At his 7th tour he won his first overall title. Evans has ridden the tour 6 times without winning the gc, he is in his 7th attempt this year.

3rd check 35.5 km, finish 42.5 km so distance between = 7 km
Canc
3rd check 51.22, finish 57.15 so 5 mins 53 sec = 5.883 min = 0.09806 hrs
speed = 7 / 0.09806 = 71.4 km/h over last 7 km

Somebody please tell me where Im messing up?
The third time check is at 37.5, not 35.5.

I would say the biggest question is does Cavendish latch on to Cancellara's wheel (4 minute gap at the start) and then try to outsprint him.

It will help answer that age old forum question. "Who would win a 200k flat race between Canc and Cav".

That makes 50.9 km/h over last 5 km.

I am outta here! Lets hope for a Cadel Evans victory!

I am rooting for a Rasmussen circa 2005 performance for Evans, plus a 2011 TdS repeat from Andy. I usually don't go the schadenfreude route, but for these two I can make an exception. I will say, though, that if either Andy or Cadel wins they will be very deserving of the victory, especially Evans.

1. CANCELLARA Fabian 12 TEAM LEOPARD-TREK 00:51:22
2. MALORI Adriano 168 LAMPRE - ISD 00:52:11 00:00:49
3. WESTRA Lieuwe 209 VACANSOLEIL-DCM 00:52:13 00:00:51
4. KOREN Kristjan 93 LIQUIGAS-CANNONDALE 00:52:15 00:00:53

Already 3 people within a minute of Cancellara at the 3rd check
Makes you think, can Evans really grind out 57 seconds on Andy?

Millar only 5s faster than Nicki Sörensen. There goes my hope for a win for Dave.

Edit: Porte does well though.

France TV saying first and last 5km are dry, but Canc rode the middle bit in the rain and that it's still raining
http://tour-de-france.sport.francetv.fr/direct-video

Weather extremely variable in that part of France.
Showers can blow through in minutes, drench one area, leave others bone dry.

As a certain somebody mentioned last night:

@lancearmstrong
Lance Armstrong
Last thing, 70% chance of rain tomorrow. . . This could be a real factor.
