If Cadel takes the yellow he really did it PERFECT this tour.
I always thought the only way for him to win was if he takes yellow the last day, so he doesn't have to defend it too long with his team.

It all worked out perfectly this Tour. Although I think he'd rather be at 30 seconds than 58. But it should still be possible.

I can see Cadel messing up on the last stage :p

Evans somehow always manages to lose. And Andy already showed he can do a great TT by miracle. I think Andy will win it easily.

All I can say at this point is whomever wins will definitely be a deserving winner. There was a lot of whinging among people as to "the other rider" not showing guts or attacking enough, but all these guys did everything they could to win the Tour over the last several days.

I also added the splits to the OP, in case anyone needs to know.

Contador made the race, he deserved the stage win.

Sanchez was the unexpected spoiler and gave the Frenchman his opportunity. He took it, so that was to be expected. However, Contador made the stage for sure.

The race is still open, there's no guarantee Evans will get this 58 seconds. After these 2 crazy stages it'll depend on the recovery maybe even more than on the pure tt skills. So we have to wait and see but I hope Evans will do it, he deserves this victory more than any other rider in the peloton.

if Contador goes for it maybe

The important thing that I think you posted re last yer itt

Was that Andy lost 2.30 ish to Denis last year - if Evans is on he could own Andy but he maybe toast a huge amount of work in the last 2 days.

ACF Evans always backends his ITT

The tt last year came after Bordeaux. Tourmalet wasnt all that either and it was a rest day before that.

This year its 2 major mountain stages before the tt so recovery is a bigger factor.

The only people who beat Evans were TT specialists in a much shorter race.

Dauphine: Grenoble

Its a long ITT

I can imagine Cadel Evans winning by +2 mins. He was stronger than Andy today in Andy´s terrain. He is a better TTer. He had a plan this TdF, unlike the Schlecks. It is his last chance. He has more guts. He deserves it more after so many years....He will not fail.

Nah i dont want Andy to win. Well i would be happy with whoever. I tend to support guys that are older, for whom it is a last chance over guys like Andy who are young and will get their win some day.

I also would like to see Cuddles get a good reception in Australia.

Its the Cadel fanboys that put me off Cadel during the stages. But whoever wins ill be happy for them.

I think the only chance Andy has is if he and Cancellara were to swap numbers and start positions and hope no one notices. Otherwise I think Evans has this pretty much wrapped up.
