Powered through the final third as ever. Fabian shows he's not really on an off day.

He took 6 seconds in the final 6km where it flattens out.

This is as close to an off day as you will see from Canc in a TDF TT.

Btw. interesting comment in the letour liveticker, that the Schlecks are sitting in the car following Cancellara - kind of a strange preparation for such an important day, no? Shouldn't Andy be getting a massage or something?
Fabian started just before noon, Andy and Frank wont start till after 4.

That can never be the winning time. Sorry for cance.
It will be waiting for Martin now ;)

Not even close to 56:00-56:30 for Cance, suprising

What happened to the 3 weeks racing, and no comparison :p?

probably will learn from cancellara, places where to push and stuff

yep that

Andy said he hadnt reconned the course .... so this was probably both to look for himself, and learn from the master

Right, Malori off soon is the next serious rider. Then Millar in 40 mins time, and (perhaps but probably not relevant) Porte straight afterwards

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean any offense. ;)

Anyway, don't sell the fur until you've shot the bear or however that saying goes in English.

Don't worry, never took any offense. :) I don't think I'll do it yet either, If I win on Andy, doesn't matter if I loose on Cancellara. And if I loose on both, I just lost 200 danish crowns. :D Never gambled before.

that was comparing it to the dauphine time

I expect the time to be around 1 minute slower than in the dauphine.
This is almost 2 minutes slower, and therefore too slow

Pate was only about 15-20 seconds slower than in the dauphine and westra even faster (15 seconds) suprisingly.

3rd check 35.5 km, finish 42.5 km so distance between = 7 km
Canc
3rd check 51.22, finish 57.15 so 5 mins 53 sec = 5.883 min = 0.09806 hrs
speed = 7 / 0.09806 = 71.4 km/h over last 7 km

Somebody please tell me where Im messing up?

Westra says the course was wet and technical, and that he descended really bad (probably where cance won most of his time).
He says the course is perfect for Evans with all the changes of pace.

Anyway i hope Cadel makes it, but it'll be very close. Evans has never showed a great final GT TT

Cancellara1:49slower then Tony in the Dauphine :D
I personally think one of the gc boys (depending on the conditions) will take the stage. FC's time wasn't overly impressive but I could be wrong.

Looks good to me and I teach maths. Either the data are wrong (rubbish in, rubbish out) or there's a very strong tailwind coming in as it doesn't look that downhill

That time by Canc will be hard to beat. I don't think it will be beaten. Martin will finish about 5-10 seconds behind and a few will finish between Martin and Westra.

lol @ people comparing times to the Dauphine in June. Completely different situations.

Once Martin rides you will get a fair indication. If he doesn't beat Cancellara's time, it definitely won't be beaten.

Levi would have been a chance but he exhausted too much energy yesterday. Instead of finishing in the autobus, he defended his 26th or so place on the GC lol.

btw how do you react to the total fail of Martin in the mountains. Even an injured and out of shape Gesink did better? :p

I don't find it surprising, his form was clearly lacking.

That's why he'll probably choke.
