martin easily doing it after going with the grupetto in the mountain stages while de ghent worked his *** off.

Yeah, that's why I think people should be thrown out if they miss the time cut :p

But I'm sure Thomas De gendt missed it a few times as well because of his injuries in the early part of the Tour :p

Someone like Martin should be punished with 20 seconds extra in the time trial if he fails the time cut. Cause point loss only punishes Cav.

Where's that a quote from? There's been some pretty abysmal translating of quotes, and quoting out of context.

I've seen the video of the interview in French with Rolland after the stage. He was asked if he knew who the last French winner on Alpe d'H was (he didn't). What he said in reply was quite modest.

I agree, 3 different videos, 2 articles and all quotes have been completely different! Next Hinault is a new one though.

I wonder how much time Tony Martin would gain if he closed his mouth....

Considering how important breathing is to maintaining a high performance, he'd lose time.

Apparently Cancellara was unable to see the track before riding it, because they arrived far too late at the start for that. Might mean Andy has yet to see it too.

Frandy were in the car behind Fabian

'3450km on a tank full of courage'

Great photo. Great ad. That ad alone was probably worth their entire investment.

Seriously, when did this become an issue? De Gendt could have chosen to save his energy too. It's a free road.

De Gendt didn't even recon the time trial. Up until yesterday he wasn't feeling so great. You're not going to sit in the gruppeto when you have great legs for the first time so late in the Tour.

It's an issue because it happened not once, but twice. And only Cav got punished for it.

People will always dig up the most ridiculous excuses to hate on a rider's achievements. De Gendt took it easy as well since his crash. It wasn't until the last cuple of days and especially yesterday that he did really well. Martin is a renowned time trialist, De Gendt never had a chance.

What does that have to do with anything? I'm not saying De Gendt should have saved his energy for today. I'm not even sure you're referring to the same issue/non-issue as me.

He couldn't do any better though. I highly doubt Martin isn't good enough to make it before the time cut.

Obviously Martin is better, but he didn't get punished for missing the time cut twice.

Beide Schlecks wel parcours op fiets verkend. Luxemburgse journalisten verkeerde info verspreid

This is a well known Dutch cycling journalist. He says that the Schlecks did recon the TT on bike. They got wrong info from the Luxembourgian journalists earlier, and that info was spread.
