This could be Quick-Step's last tour in it's current form and it doesn't look like they are going out with a bang.

Sad for Boonen. I think winning worlds is the only thing that can save his season.

boonen isn't as fast any more but after a hard race where the top sprinters are much more tired compared to a 200k flat stage a guy with great endurance like boonen and freire becomes a big threat.

if he gets back into form and steegmans and gilbert agree to lead him out since its a "hard" finish he has chance. but from what i have seen i don't see gilbert working for him because he doesn't seem to like to work for anybody.

The lack of speed of Steegmans has puzzled me because he was really quick a couple of years back. Looks like he is man for them now in any case.

Average speed 37 kmh :(

Wish the intermediate sprint was NOW, then I wouldn't be tempted to stay awake :p

Agreed. Plus I think it takes a long, long to come back fron knee problems. Boonen and Haussler were both no where near as good this year.

any kind of problem on your knee is awful. a friend of mine ruptured(i think thats the right word for this situation) both his Anterior and Posterior ligaments and it took him 2 surgeries and 2 years of rehab to walk normally again. it took him that long because after the first surgery and first year of rehab the first time he kicked a ball he ruptured them again and had to do everything again(surgery and rehab). he has never done any sports after that.

Gesink looked better than yesterday but there's no way to tell for sure, they have been softpedalling so far. There's plenty of wind and the final will be hard for sure

Heh. Jonathan Vaughters tired of reporters asking the same questions every day?

Reporter: What did you tell your team before todays stage?
JV: I told them it is Groundhog Day. Do you know the movie Groundhog day?
Reporter: No.
JV: Good movie. You should see it...

Chavenel and Voeckler are discussing Greece's economic problems. Signs this stage is a snoozer.

either that or the general rage around europe created by moody's dropping portugal's rating's to garbage despite the good measures of the new government

Cancellara seemed to have a talk with his DS. Talking about whether to try to break the group into pieces?

Talking about whether dangerously straight roads are a good enough reason to neutralise the stage.

LOL at Phil saying that BMC was launching an attack off the front, then moments later suggesting that Uran's mishap was embarrassing.
